Personally, because of the towers unwillingness to do anything, I went on strike long time ago and stopped wasting my time on killing any 'mass' spam.
I suggest "the lot" do the same.
First page of credit cards board is almost full of "baba ji" spam threads ATM, some are more than 30 minutes old.0 -
I too dont go out of my way now to click spam if i happen to see it then I do. But I am fed up of MSE not doing enough by either restricting new posters or so many post say 3 that are same and spam button pressed there whole threads disappear. There are far too many spammers now using MSE and spoiling this site.0

Can we expect a continuous torrent of the stuff?0 -
Given that URLs are blocked until you reach a certain number of posts, could the same be done for posting email addresses?
There's a load of spam in the Insurance forum this afternoon and it's ending with an email address, presumably because the spammer knows that URLs are blocked. Doing the same for an email address (no one really needs to post their email up on a big public forum anyway) might curb one or two of these bots.0 -
Both the URL and e-mail address can be easily made undetectable in various ways like adding spaces, using 'at' instead of @ etc.0

Something I have often wondered about is whether the spammer is informed that his post has been reported. In other words, do they realise that they are being detected and just keep coming, or do they naively think that they are just getting their advertisements out there?Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?
