My saving target is going to be £40 I think, but that means judicious use of receipt-saving for tax purposes for those month-end away days. I have booze to take with me, and will be self-catering in an apartment. Fingers crossed this works!

Hi folks.
Apologies for absence over the weekend.
littleskintdragon great move using your savings to pay off debt. Good luck with DF journey.
In order to increase my SFD now started buying 6 pints milk 1.30 at a time in lidl. Have to use a milk jug to pour into cups of tea, as it is bit heavy side, at least this way won't be coming home with another ten pounds spent on food.
Lilt - sorry to hear jelly not well again, hope she is better soon.
Had a fairly quiet weekend and didn't spend a bean except for Friday night. That came in under a tenner - got to love Wethers! Ate as well for that with just having a crown done, eggy and chips about all I could eat.
Nice to see lots of new faces on here, good luck and we are all here to support you, when life throws a curve ball at you.
Samizel hope your water repairs are not too expensive.
Not sure about my budgets this month. No big food shop planned as my bank account can't justify it. Got enough food in the freezer hopefully, so just will need veg, fruit milk and bread. Going to try 50 pounds, never been that low.
Food 50
Animals(Dog and bunny) 25 (need big bag of dog food this month)
Going out 30 (nothing planned real ale festival end of the month)
SFD 1/18
Now found my MOT recommendations gulp will ask one of my dog walkers(mechanic) what he would charge, no hurry as it passed beginning of the year.
Started decluttering - my wheelie bin is half full with clothes hangers so far, this is going to be a big job. Aiming for 5 items a day.
Need sawdust/ doggy bags/ doggy biccies today - home bargains time. Tried their eggs the other day 69p for 6 and gorgeous, huge and really fresh.

Thanks for the welcome everyone
2nd day in and not a sfd as i took ds to baby group, only £2 and its his chance to socialise so its worth it as he doesnt go to creche.
Also needed petrol ready to go to college tonight and work tomorrow.
Washing is on the line, i would say drying but its probably not its nippy out there and my garden faces the wrong way so its in the shade
Had a big pack of mince in the fridge, so i made spaghetti in the slow cooker for tonight and a nice big cottage pie for tomorrow night.
Thrifylass - i need to get my breadmaker down from on top of the fridge, ive got all of the ingredients in the cupboard! Thank u for reminding me! And i agree, March is a good month to start, sun has even made an appearancefeels like its starting to brighten up!
Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Hi everyone. Working from home today so feeling relaxed and loving the sunshine too
Well done Cerugirl on getting your teaching place and Littleskint dragon on your payment :j I must admit I have around 250.00 in various pots and wonder if it's worth throwing it at the debt pot.Well I've had two spend free days so far. Tomorrow should be the same. Lilt wishing Jelly well:) So glad to have FINALLY gone through the 4k barrier! Still hoping August is within my sights. Well take care everyone and enjoy the rest of the day

Evening all
Haven't had a SFD yet, annoyingly, as had to buy cough medicine for DS1 yesterday and paid to go to baby group with DS2 this morning. Got a feeling tomorrow may be a spendy day too as my microwave just died in spectacular style
On the plus side, we are having "orts" for tea - my Nan used this expression when it was whatever could be found in the fridge and cupboards, or in this case, freezer. Not sure what DH will make of my creative combos...
Been sorting out some of my clothes as we are hoping to move soon and as much as I'd love to get back into some of my things, I think the fashion police might have something to say by the time that happens. Five tops, one skirt and a pair of boots that are very tight round my calves waiting to go to the charity shop in the morning. Counting this towards the challenge and it's less to pack at a later date. Recycled our old patio table, chairs and parasol yesterday too - the garden looks huge without them.
Loving hearing about everyone's start to March. Keep up the good work x0 -
Had a much better day today
Boiler engineer booked for Friday (£104.50 + VAT per hour )
Good day at work and now I'm off to an exercise class, so not an NSD today. DH wants to go to the SM this eve as he's out of razors etc etc (will come out of his own budget) so I'll come along to find any yellow sticker products I can munch my way through this week.
Made apricot & white chocolate blondies last night... and the entire tray has already been eaten
Have a good evening all!Letting Go NST #17

Another SFD. 10 x 15minutes housework done (only scratching the surface but if I can keep it up all week it might start to look better). Wanted to tackle some of the ivy but it was wild out there - went to the post office and it started to rain on the way there, snow turned to hail on the way back. Went mild by late afternoon but was too tired to go up the ladder by then,
45 items (mostly kitchen bits) have gone to the charity bin in the library. They were being used by DS2 until he moved last year and was keeping some for DS3 but if it is going to be the year after next before he and gf set up home, it's not worth hanging on to them - let the charity and someone else benefit from them. Looking at several larger items as well - just want my space back.
Various food bits have been used up in meals and food and cleaning stuffs used or decanted and the empty containers dispatched to relevant bins. A small pile of paperwork is leaving the house every evening, about a magazine worth but made up from sheets and little scraps of paper. Really want to get minimalist now - when you have a DS3 there isn't much room for anything else.
Today I am grateful for the charity bin at the library (so much easier when carrying something heavy),the sunshine bouncing off my washing line (could see it from across the car park when I was walking back) and getting things done (however slowly). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Samiszel - ouch to the hourly rate!! Hope he sorts it quickly!
Dizzy Imp - buying medicines doesn't lose you an NSD'umder other challenge 'rules'. Nor does kiddie activities, so long as you have planned them and set the money aside - some people use envelope systems. You may be able to reclaim your NSDs!
Caeraugirl - congrats on getting accepted into the teaching world. Hope you can get finances sorted.
mothernerd - once again an epic day of activity that would put me to shame! Well done on your ever-increasing mobility.
Today I am grateful for dd wanting to play out the front which meant I got a workout done, for someone wanting my bag of children's hangers, for a good day at work, for dd on her bouncy hopper, for the lone daffodil making a statement im a sea of dark purplr croci.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
