Well I've managed the first of my hoped for 12 NSD's. Have 12 things listed on eBay, have cleaned out part of the kitchen and will do the rest next weekend. I'm paying £368 off my debts this months (excluding tax, otherwise it's another £350). Food budget will be £360. Petrol £100 this month, have half a tank left in one car, so hope to keep that down.

It's my Dads 80th this week, there is nothing he wants so we'll take him out for the day, am guessing at £100 for all of us. My birthday is on the 16th, but I am going to just have something small from each of the children. Would rather pay some debt off .

Hope you've all had good weekends, mine has gone so quickly I hardly feel like I've had one!

Good evening and Happy St Davids Day.
    :D

    Spendy day today... £47.04!!

However, that has given us enough meat to last a while and a heap of fruit and veg.
I have officially started my diet today and as a result have bought the ingredients to make a soup and a batch of lasagne.
We have also bought a heap of diluting juice which should last us a month or two.
    :)

    So.... SFD = 0/15.
    Food Budget = £47.04/£120.00
    Entertainment = £0/£40.00
    Fuel Budget = £0/£40.

    Keep Marching on Turtleys.
    Hugs.
    Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

  • Hello fellow DFW/NST's

It's the first of March and I am looking forward to more debt busting, money saving days.

I have put the budget monies in their allocated envelopes, set the

Housekeeping budget (food, toiletries, cleaning stuff, etc) at £620. (I've got three hungry hippos at home). But hoping to spend a lot less than that. Fingers crossed

Petrol set at £350 to share between 2 cars.

    £1000 set for debt repayment.

Since this is my first time to join challenges, I would like to try 10 NSD's.

Aim to take lunch to work everyday.

And not have take away or dine out until the 26th of March.

i have managed to clean the house, deep clean the kitchen, do 3 loads of laundry and hang the clothes outside to dry. I also invested on a clothes aired on sale (only paid £4) to hang clothes to air dry before refreshing in the dryer,

We're heading off to a friend's house for dinner and I am bringing 2 homemade egg custard pies as my contribution.

I can't wait til the end of March to see how well/badly I will do.

Here's wishing you all a successful month, one month closer to our debt free days.

Also just lost my post. Budgets are in signature. A SFD. Started a frog list and ate one - planted three foxgloves (large plants). Re-acquainted with muscles I had forgotten I had. Still aching (not hurting) from this morning. Good to get it out of the way as it has been raining again since dinner.

Simple meals made from food I had in. Kitchen de-clutter started. If Ds3 and gf can't afford to move in together until the year after next (sigh) all the duplicate tools I was saving can go to the cs.

March's 'project' is to recover an old quilt/comforter. The original silk cover is faded and worn through in places. Have washed/dried and ironed the replacement centre panel and pinned it together over the last week and made a start on the sewing (by hand) today. I have it over the bannister rail and the airer so that I can reach underneath and sew through all the layers.

Pampering has commenced and my feet are looking better after three days of smothering them in cream and waiting for it to sink in. Embroidery is proceeding well.I have started a new drawer for all the medium and large pieces completed. Not sure what to do with them - thinking cushions for a Craft Fair towards the end of the year but it's giving me much needed thinking time for developing my business whilst fulfilling my current obligations.

Today I am grateful for simple food, excellent books and being able to dig (if only for a few minutes - raised bed so used shoulders not feet).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Evening all,

So as usual my budgets have already been dipped into. I start my budgets on 25th when I get paid so I have already spent on petrol, lots of my personal budget and did a big monthly shop (including all the pet food for the month). We just need small top up shops for the rest of the month :) Had to spend today as I forgot oil yesterday so no SFD :(

Paid towards my debt - £368.82 :) and £25 from tutoring :) and I vow to use all my tutoring money this month towards the debt.

Busy day so far and now I'm exhausted, so going to have an early night asap - I have cleaned the kitchen, bathroom, hoovered, done the washing and the washing up, walked the dogs, cleaned up the garden, went to the gym and ran 5.5km, marked coursework for a couple of hours and done my lesson planning for the week. OH made dinner and now thinks he's some kind of saint!

Looking forward to some decluttering this month. Who was it who mentioned they were following the advice of some decluttering guru online? and what was there advice? Sorry my memory is awful!

    NSD 1 in the bag.

Plenty more decluttering done. Fmess, I'm reading the Kon Marie thread - am about post 960 and not even halfway through - but am loving it! Along with the Not Buying It one, and the Make do, Mend and Minimize one. I have to limit my screen time!

Finished 3 bunnies, 2 more need their bottoms sewing, and 3 more are cut out and ironed.

A day of no sugar and no grains - aa good sstart to March!

    Hello everyone

First sfd done, so all budgets in tact. Been at work today and as people are on holiday and off sick the time just flew by, I know you shouldn't wish your life away but at least I don't mind whilst at work.

Going to the pictures tomorrow, advance tickets bought a couple of days ago, it's a treat for a friend's birthday as I never know what to get them and I know they want to see this film. Taking home made popcorn and squash - very frugal!!! So a good night will be had.

Off to bed as I need an early night and it takes me time to the animals to bed etc so I have to start off earlier still lol

Hi Fmess, wasn't me but can recommend Marie Kondo's book (also referred to as KonMari Method) - think it's the Art of Tidying but don't want to risk losing this post to check my Kindle app!

I have done my clothes, accessories, toiletries, books, DVDs, paperwork and several drawers of carp so far, resulting in 7 bags to CS, two large boxes of books to jumble sale, three boxes to various selling sites and quite a lot of recycling and rubbish.

Clothes organised and easy to find now, and feel much "lighter" already - and still have a bit to go, including photos and personal items.

She's a bit kooky, and has some unusual ideas, not all of which I've embraced (haven't thanked my socks....) but her general premise is really helpful and has enabled me to finally ditch lots of stuff that I don't need. There's a thread on these forums and lots on youtube about it if you want to know more.
