Hello and wellcome to March. Still in bed as today is my one lie in in of the week. But typical DD slept till 7 whereas she got me up at 5 everyday. Life is not fair. Today will be a spend day as I'll go to Aldee for mainly HH items, nappies etc.
DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/25
  • I'm in! I've been feeling down recently about debt and money (lack of!) and i know this is the way to get me back on track! I havent used the cc since before xmas, which is great, but now it needs paying off. I'll work out later how much i can pay off debts, but dh gets paid weekly so it'll all be in small bits. I get monthly pay, but tbh it went in on the 25th and mortgage etc goes out on the 26th!!
Starting with 5 nsd's. Not a lot but i always fail by setting myself ridiculous targets!
Still here..... but working on that!

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Good morning all
I plan to try for 15 NSDs.
I need to tighten it up this month as Feb was slack in a few areas.
This challenge will keep me marching in the right direction though.
    Have a good day all.

Morning everyone :) It's nice and bright at the moment and i'm feeling chirpy :D I am not actually going to give myself a number for NSD but rather see how many I can rack up.Although mentally I want at least 20 :T I've started preparation for getting rid of clutter in the house this morning, so that's good. I need to pay into my various pots and make my debt payment today to bring my signature amount down. due to me getting my figures wrong, I didn't bother update last month as the correct figure was as it looks now after my payment. At least now it will shift :) Well have a good day everyone and take care :)

    Hi all,

Another turtle who hasn't posted on here for a while, although I have been following all your news with interest, honest! And I have been busy while not posting, have managed to secure a place on a primary teacher training course from September (yay!), which is a bit of a career change from my current NHS job!!

Sadly I didn't get a salaried place though(boo!), so have been knee deep in student loan applications, financial research and savings plans - mortgage free ambitions on the back burner while I try and build a little nest egg to soften the blow of losing my income from the family pot for a whole year.

I've also had two children with lurgy one after the other - why do they NEVER get it out of the way at the same time?! - my maths and English skills tests to study for and sit, and ramped-up work demands for my current job.

So can I get off the naughty step and rejoin you all for March? I'm going to need your support and inspiration more than ever now! And well done on producing an amazing thread at such short notice Thriftylass!

I'll reread the new thread rules later when I have a bit more time, and work out my budgets, SFD's etc from there.

Sorry to all those who were having a rough time in February, hope spring is kinder to you all xx

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus! Happy St David's Day!

Was up bright and early this morning. Weather was lovely so made a packed lunch and headed out as the castles in Wales have free entry today. Made it all the way to Anglesey before the heavens opened! Still, we spent an hour in the most sheltered parts of the castle before heading back home. Spend day as it cost me £1 for parking.

Had our packed lunch when we got back home and will make a nice roast this evening.

So far have spent £33 from shopping budget and around £40 from fuel budget. The other car will also need fuel this week, but apart from that should be able to manage a few SFDs.

Thought of you this morning WelshKitty... Happy St David's Day! :) welsh cakes abound today I hope? Love them... Need to get some sultanas and make some belatedly in your honour :D

Baked bread last night to avoid the supermarket so had that for lunch today with some jam. Score 1 on the boards for lunch!

SFD today. Tomorrow I need to pay for so much anyway that it will be a big spendy day to get lots out of the way. Am doing an online shop now for tomorrow so that I don't miss anything. Going to bake something with Jelly this afternoon though undecided what. Might be a lemon cake. :) anything to stop her driving me bonkers as she recovers from this bug. She is still not eating.

Have a good day all. xx

Well done on securing your teacher training place, Caeraugirl :D I hope that you'll find teaching very rewarding.

I haven't had a great start to the month today... Hot water has packed in yet again so we have decided to finally call someone in to check it all out. Not going to be cheap, I'm sure!

Also having problems with the electrics at this stupid flat we rent out (husband bought it when he was 22, waaaay before we were together. So I've inherited the stress that comes with it. Desperate to sell it, but it needs the lease extending- about £10,000- and we're in the process of taking the freeholder to court as the exterior is in a complete state of disrepair even though we pay £2500 in management fees per year which she appears to have pocketed herself as she cannot show accounts. Only then will we be in a position to sell. Oh, and it's on an interest-only Buy-to-Let mortgage and we make a massive loss, even renting it out. My husband ) So need an electrician to be called out for that too £££

Have a six-day week this week, plus working till 7 every evening till Fri too *cries*

Rant over. Off to in-laws for some roast dinner and a catch-up :)
