Morning everyone,
Have finally worked out budgets so will update my signature with them in a mo. Pleased to have 2 SFDs under my belt for 1st & 2nd, but will need petrol today.
Am trying alternate day fasting (latest attempt to lose weight!) so no lunch needed yesterday, today's sandwich in the fridge ready to go.
Had mega shop from Oc@do on Sat - literally down to the wire for food stores - with £20 off as first shop and also now have a free weekday annual pass from them. And not one substitution, EVERYTHING present and correct!
Had also topped up toiletries needed Sat with some vouchers do hope will be able to do it. Love the decluttering challenge, too - will give me the push to finish my "Kondo-ing".
Thanks to all for congratulations about teaching place - am excited and terrified in equal measure, and hope I'm doing the right thing, but looking forward to a new challenge.
Hope you all have a good day, good luck with essay SOA and hope you feel less grumpy today Fmess.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

Gooood morning!
A lovely sunny day here again and everything is covered in snow, looks great.
the only girl well done on the good start and getting everybody in the family on board
synonymous wow, you are definitely taking care of yourself, 5-a-day, meditaion, pampering, exercise. I should take that as inspiration.
Dizzy Imp I have added a wee paragraph to the rules section
Today should be NSD number two. Found £2.05 roadkill (well actually buskill) yesterday. We changed seats after someone got off and he must've lost the money on the seat.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Didn't manage an SFD yesterday as OH went to the shop, and I notice today we are dangerously low on bread! How many sandwiches has he had? 8?
Okay, so we have flour and yeast and also a focaccia/ciabatta bread mix, but I may have to go buy bread because the freelance job is keeping me sooo busy at night!Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, spent so far £45.95, remaining £104.05.0 -

What takes longer, going to the shops or mixing a bread mix with water and kneading it for 5 min. Sorry that's the strict German coming throughWhen do you def need bread again, what counts as dangerously low, enough for lunches. Oh and 8 sandwiches, when, how :rotfl:

Hoping for a sfd today (#1) except dd has her first dance competition which will cost me £1 to watch! Preplanned though so it doesnt count.
Havent bought any food yet,or toiletries. I have my own challenge with toiletries, which is to use up 3 before i can buy one new one, ive used up 24 so far this year, im including make up in this. I always get enough shower gel to last the year at xmas, and bought 8 baby bubble baths last year t3sco brand which i still have. Dont think i'll need anything in this catagory this month except maybe conditioner.
All my debt payments have been made, i may make some more depending on what dh's pay looks like the next few weeks!
Wishus sounds like my dh making sarnies!!!
In work today (yes, lunch was h/m!) , so i best go now!Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Set up payment for current credit card (emergencies and clear monthly) for Thursday 250.00 ouch dentist and Thriller tickets (daughters bday). Wish it was coming off my debt instead.
Decluttering started on DVDs last night, gave up trying to download app for music magpie so in charity bag, my Itunes( acct playing up.
Trying to eat healthy but today I need chocolate, tooth still sensitive when I bite(was told could take about 10days to settle) - could melt the chocolate down;)
Well sun still out and its hometime, dog walk, school run next.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Hi everyone!
Speakingofart I feel your pain regarding essay writing! 12 weeks to go and mine will be all over with. Cannot wait!
Thrifty to be honest, it's not really grocery shopping that's the problem. I am quite good with planning and buying enough to last the week. I think, because I shop in different places for meat, toiletries, groceries, I end up buying them on different days which means I lose SFDs. Plus, last month DH kept topping up his car with little bits every time he needed it. So this month I have told him to fill up at the beginning of the month and that has to last him. I also lost a few SFDs because of travelling for interview.
Well I have heard back from the interview/assessment and I passed!!! That means I have to go back in 2 weeks time for a final interview. I really want this job! Hotel is going to cost me £60, plus I will need fuel and food while I am there, but they will reimburse about half of my expenses and hopefully it will all be worthwhile.
I need to spend today on postage to return some items we purchased last month. As we will get a refund, I'm not counting it as a spend.
Have decluttered my make up bag and thrown out items that I just don't use. Am pleased to say I can now actually close it.
Need to dig through my wardrobe to find something to wear for interview as I am currently feeling the urge to buy a new interview outfit. Bad kitty!0 -

Sorry I didn't want to sound too harsh. Your explanation makes perfect sense and whatever works for you. That's why I also let everybody set their own SFD target rather than saying it has to be 20 as that doesn't fit everybody.
Congratulations on passing the assessment and Good Luck with the next stage.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Well done on passing WelshKitty :j :jand good luck for the final interview. Sorry if you've already explained this previously, but does it mean you have to relocate to South Wales if you get it? Or is it a national company? Regarding the interview outfit, you'll be much more comfy in something familiar, and therefore more relaxed.... Does that help with resisting spends?
And Calling, I used that site for some of my DVD's but used CEX for the rest, and they've paid out while I'm still waiting for MM to quality check the ones I sent to them at the same time... May be worth looking at CEX? They offered more for some and less for others but you'd probably break even if you use the same place for all of them?
Spent on petrol today so no SFD, but avoided "popping in" to SM alongside it, and had a belated lunch as I left my HM sandwich in the fridge! Resisted the urge to nip out and buy one though - preparing my mindset for my upcoming year as a skint student! - and ate it when I got in.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

Thrifty not harsh at all. I would rather get all the spends out of the way one day a week but it just doesn't happen.
Caeraugirl it's a national organisation but head office is in South Wales so that's where the interviews are. Thanks for the outfit advice. I will raid the wardrobe tonight and see what's hiding in there. I know I have a skirt and shoes that will be fine, it's a nice top or jacket I need. I have uniform provided where I work so don't own many formal clothes. I want to feel that I look good and feel confident when I go in as I have to stand in front of everyone and give a presentation, so all eyes will be on me!0
