Mothernerd - that is amazing! I am so happy for you. They must have known they were bang to writes. Let's just hope they do fix your account too.
Thank you for the kind wishes all. And I do know there are other families with age gaps. My own mum had me, then 3 years later one sister and 6 years later another so there is 9 years between oldest and youngest. I think that is why I have always thought it's not important to have a 2 or 3 year gap. Some people seem obsessed with age gaps and siblings being best friends. End of the day we are all independent individuals does it matter if we are best friends forever too??" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Hello fellow turtles,
Good morning all!
Congratulations, Bobarella, for the great news! So pleased for you and your family. Wishing you the best of health for the entire duration of your pregnancy!
Well done, fmess for hitting your NSD target. We still have a few days left of this month so you can still smash and go past your target. I am 2 days away from hitting my target of 10 but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I would be able to squeeaze in a couple for to hit my target before the month ends. Yesterday wasn't a NSD for me as we had to top up essentials. Not a big spend though so not too bad. Today isn't a NSD either as I have plans to have a meal out with some of my friends tonight. There's a meal deal at one of the italian restaurants in the area - £3.95 for a three course meal. Cheaper than Mcdo methinks.
:T That's great news mothernerd! Well done for keeping it up with your battle against your energy supplier and finally getting back what you deserve. It just goes to show persistence pays off and we shouldn't be put off by the company's stubbornness and daylight robbery.
samiszel and speaking of art, enjoy your weekend away! Have fun. hugs samiszel for your bother about your tooth. I hope it gets sorted soon. There is nothing worse than toothache, for me it's the worst kind of pain. I have endured induction labour and 2 caesarean sections but I couldn't stand toothaches.
I have some good news myself. I have finally convinced my hubby to shop around for our home insurance. Since we bought our house in 2003, we've always just stuck to one insurance and have remained loyal to Halifax (they don't deserve our loyalty tbh). Our home insurance is due for renewal next week and it is a whopping £599 (£49 monthly). After shopping around, we managed to get one with better specs than our old one for £149 for a year! :j:j:jI can't believe how much money we have wasted or thrown away for remaining loyal. We are both over the moon. We are also on the process of finding the best deal for our car insurances which are both due for renewal next week too."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Wow only been away a day and there is so much news.
A baby Bob how lovely 6 yrs difference between my girls worked well when they were growing up and they are best of friends now. Congratulations try and take it easy a bit, no wonder your are feeling tired.
Theonly girl - well done on the insurance - we are a savvy bunch now us turtles, how this board has changed our ways.
samiszel - teeth have been my downfall with my debt busting this year, hope you manage to get it sorted cheaply
Mothernerd - congratulations on your victory. Hack a bit more ivy down in celebration. So glad for you.
Fmess - horrid when you feel so tired, Have a power nap later. I will clear the naughty step for you.
Well after everyone's news my little mundane life goes on. Yesterday had sainsburys monthly food delivery had 12pounds voucher - last one I had was January. SFD lost. Also got bag dog food online thanks to myvoucher codes, cheaper than in Pets at home and my petrol driving there. Not a great deal but it all counts.
Today SFD planned, heaps of food in, bit achey after Sundays walk so may wander around town at lunchtime just for a stretch but no spending. Made liver and bacon casserole last night so got remains tonight. Lovely when you come in from the cold, to smell food and kitchen is all warm.
Can't wait to collect grandson from school and show him his castle(pop up tent). Think I will be sat in it later watching lego movie hehe. Its insulated - may save on heating bills !!

Thanks everyone, sorry to be a grump so early in the morning.
Just popped home for some chocolate and to let the dogs out before tutoring. Need to try avoid takeaway as I can hear the little voice in my head tempting me!

Hi All
The Only Girl - Thank you very much. I so agree with the comments on teeth by the way, I've had the same induction & Emergency C & tooth stuff is FAR worse. Also, that is an amazing saving on your insurance. Well done!
Calling - That is very reassuring to hear, thank you. Your news isnt mundane at all.
Me today, well a personal NSD & great day in the shop. Managed to get out in time to bank & walk to school, plus pick up chicken wings a bargainacious £1.66 per large pack at Sains. So doing those with potato wedges and salad tonight.
Paid the final installment to EON of my overdue electricity bill. Do you know, I honestly do not remember the last time I wasnt behind on my business energy bill so I am very happy about this. Mini celebration dance.
My accountant came by, apparently in the corporation tax reporting period, which ended June 2014, so ages ago, we declined in takings by around £6,000 from the year before. But that period takes into account the start of the water issues, so I kind of expected that. I have to pay him £800 for filing and all that jazz. So there goes the emergency fund. But I'd much rather just have a clean slate.
The photographer came back & got the nice bustling shot she was after yesterday. So thats good for the article when it comes out.
One of my friends stopped in today and I had a good chat with her regarding what Im doing. She is fully in agreement that I have to ignore the voices who are asking for everything back the way it was, and go with my gut which tells me to go small but steady & manageable. So that was reassuring.
Checked all the banking across the board. All fine.
Had to call BT again as they are harassing me still about non payment, despite them saying everything is fine each time I call in. It is very draining, but I again am optimistic we've resolved it now.
Got my new John Lewis voucher through today for coffee & cake, so will hopefully get to use that in the up coming easter break.
Think thats it for me today.

Checking in whilst I seem to be back on the old layout. Couldn't find my user area on the new one. A SFD.
Took two books back to the library, rounded up rubbish and did litter picking with the grabber stick in the yard and the backs to fill the bin. Went back up the ladder and got down all the ivy on the neighbour's side. A little has fallen into his yard but as it is only covering up the dog doo I don't think he will complain. About a foot off the top of the fence panel has disintegrated so will have to take that down in small sections over the Summer.
Have chopped 3 and a half sacks of ivy (lots left) but it was going dark and I was frozen stiff so have come in. Want to do another paper cull later in the week (want to scan in some old paperwork 'just in case' and DS3 appropriated the scanner when it came in the house). I have the scanner back (it's a 3 in 1 but no longer works as a printer - can't remember what the third thing was). Don't know if all the bits are there but will ask him after gf goes home and he has had 24 hours of sleep to recover.
Today I am grateful for some of the optimism/ mindfulness beginning to sink in (self-help book covered some of the same ground), for being a woman - one of the books I took back wasn't what I expected, more about a man spending a year throwing himself off cliffs etc to experience an adrenaline rush to combat his high stress life which was grinding to a halt (apparently it's mainly a man thing although the two wing walkers he met were both women, only 18 and 20 something, their predecessors tended to retire when they wanted children). Think having children and coping with whatever they do next gives you all the adrenaline rush you need.
Grateful for DS3 and gf actually gathering up the rubbish in his room (accumulated since Saturday) after only three reminders, even if they mixed in some things that should be in the recycling. Also grateful for leftovers. One day I had a lump of rice they had left, with a spoonful of leftover sauce and 1/2 a chopped pepper. Today I had some okay pizza which was very welcome when I came in frozen. Wish I had found it before I stood on the stack of pizza boxes to squash them. Also grateful for the librarian who was emptying the returned book box when I checked mine in so that I could just slide mine across and add them to his pile, rather than dropping them in the slot (always worry about how they fall in case they get damaged).
Agree about tooth pain. Many years ago, I had a wisdom tooth that tried to come through. No room as I have a very small jaw. However ended up with a massive ear/ head/ tubes infection so painful I had to write down the times I took pain killers as could not remember through the pain. Had to spend a day in hospital having three of them cut out of my jaw.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Thanks for the comments and advice on my tooth problem. My brother is training to be a dentist (why couldn't this have happened in a couple of years?!) and he thinks he'll be able to arrange for a specialist to do the root canal in his clinic under "dental microscope". Sounds technical! And should be a fraction of the cost I was quoted. My bro told me he has performed 7 extractions (and counting) on a 25 year old patient of his! :undecided I probably shouldn't complain too much then...
Was sent home ill from work this afternoon, and almost certainly won't be in tomorrow. Very flu-y... haven't felt this rotten in years.
No NSD, but did claim a LTW as I brought soup in (still in the work fridge), though I didn't end up having any lunch in the end.

Bobarella what amazing news!!!! Congratulations!!! :j:j:j:j:j a little Bob running around
how exciting. I am waiting patiently until Jellytot is at school for number 2. There was much upheaval when she was 18 months old, with me and her dad splitting etc, and once we finally got life back on an even keel I didn't want to rock the boat for a while. Now she has hit almost three and is a nightmare and frankly I can't see me handling a baby on top right now. So when she goes to school, watch this space!!
hope you are not too sick or anything
mothernerd HOORAYYYYYYY!!!!! Am so pleased for you. Thats a huge chunk of money coming back!! :T Well done you for persisting when you knew you were right!! And sorry you had to put up with such utter rubbish! Reminds me to go and get my reads in before midnight!
Samiszel a dentist in the family at any point in your life is a great thing2 years isn't so long, but great he has managed to get you it done technically and at a fraction of the cost!
Here is hoping for a great and cheap result!
As for me. Well.. I just.. I don't know what to say about myself. All this money has gone to my head and I have overspent my food/toiletries/household budget of £150 by £100 extra  So onto the naughty step and the spends are being pulled in tight. Got some little bits for Jellytots birthday to cover but other than that should be good. need to rack up SFD's between now and the end of the month if I want any chance of hitting my target!! Am currently on 12.
Have a lovely evening all.Sorry for the quiet. I was avoiding explaining to you all and myself how stupid I have been this month. And now I've told YNAb and she has forgiven me so I am ok(ish) again.
Night all xx

Samiszel - that is good news about your brother training to be a dentist!
Mothernerd - I do love to hear about your day
Today was a SFD, managed to avoid the temptation of the takeaway and used the tutoring money earned to pay off some more debt
Tomorrow will be a spendy day as I am supervising an afterschool event in the evening and some other staff have organised to go for food beforehand as most of them live too far away to go home and come back. I did think about just going home and eating (I will be popping home anyway) but they also want to go out during the holidays, and of the two I'd rather go tomorrow evening. I know I don't have to go to either but do feel that I need to make a few more connexions and be seen to be making an effort.
Think Thursday will be a spendy day too as I'm expecting the Ald! voucher to be in the paper again. The last two months I have managed to buy two vouchers and use them to get about 50% of the month's food, which makes the weekly shops minimal and much easier to do
