The only girl did you type that right! £3.95 for 3 courses! Where is it?! Have a great night

    Be back later

Yup Fmess it is right, not a typo. It's in a chain of Italian restaurants here in the northeast. £3.95 gives you a starter (either minestrone or potato skins, main course either pasta or pizza and ice cream or coffee as the third course. I couldn't believe it myself when I first heard of it. I was so skeptical I didn't want to know. Then by some coincidence hubby and I found ourselves in one of their restaurants and were gobsmacked. I thought they serving would be tiny considering the price. But oh no, they are generous with a capital G. They introduced the price as a lunch time deal but some branches offer them all day long. The one we went to tonight have theirs for £4.95 all day and all night, not just lunchtime and I am still stuffed one hour after getting home. I paid £10.40 including drinks and a lovely dessert for £3.95 which is their so called tapas of sweets - including chocolate fudge cake, profiteroles, cheesecake and some whipped cream. Not bad eh? Very MSE if I may say so myself. With a price like that I could afford to go once a month. ;)

    Morning Turtles!

So, we are into the last week, days not actual week. How are we all doing?

Did we scrimp too much on our budgets?
Did we forget to plan for a monthly/annual expense?
    Did we make any savings?

Not entirely sure where my budgets are. I'm not over on anything, but I do tend to shuffle things part way through the month from general spends and entertainment. Which basically means that they are both the same budget, I just split it and give them different titles.

I've got a savings account for my annual stuff, car insurance, tax, service, salon, etc and that is more than covered for the year with the monthly payments.

The good news, or unexpected surprise for me, is that my council tax has gone down by £15 per month for this coming year. I think because of when I moved and what was left and however else they work out council tax my payments were unexpectedly high, even when I queried and had to get the single person discount applied.

This little saving will go back into the general budget. I've been doing a little bit of selling de-cluttering, cd's and dvd's and stuff. I've decided that this money will go to taking the OH to Edinburgh. We said a while back that we would both like to go and we would like to go on the sleeper train, make a whole weekend of it. So anything else I can make some little money from, the money will go to this fund.

April will be interesting for me budget wise, because the OH is coming to stay for a week or more, which means that I will have to buy some actual food, instead of eating the same thing for lunches and dinners. I don't think the budget will go up that much, but I do know that I will have to bear this in mind.

I'm glad the weather is being brighter too, the solar panels that I got with the house will start saving me some money on the bills now hopefully too.

oh, and I forgot to say:

I've been searching for my new ink cartridges for a week or so, to be able to get rid of my dvd's and cd's. Well, I gave in on Monday, and ordered some more, 20 for £4 which I thought was a fantastic bargain, so the law of s*d's says that the ones I know I saw a few weeks ago, will turn up, anytime now.
The same with some tweezers that I packed carefully away in my moving pack and haven't been able to find since. I need them for the wedding day prep so will be buying some new ones today, so the others are bound to turn up on the wedding day morning.

I know I should have kept looking but, both things have literally disappeared!!!

Hi everyone - feel like I've been a lurker again this month but I have been popping in to read and catch up with all the news :)

I'm also liking the sound of the naughty step - so comfy and inviting! I don't think I qualify this week though as although I've had some unexpected spends (my car died on me and accommodation costs whilst house hunting) I have paid for these with CASH. I'm very proud of myself for being able to do this and not scramble for the CC. :j

While I was cleaning and tidying for our photographer's visit to the house I found a stash of unused men's toiletries in SS's room - he says we can all use them, so that means I'll only have bought baby toothpaste this month for my little one who cut his first tooth a week ago. Some do smell a bit funky to me but I don't suppose anyone will be sniffing me lol

Hope everyone is holding strong for the end of the month x

Oh no Lilt! Thinking of you. I do hope its not your job itself?

Shyspender - Well, for me, this month has been ok. Looks like Im going to have to pay my emergency fund over to the accountant, but its that or use my business overdraft and I dont want to. So thats annoying, but its my own fault for not thinking of it. I feel fairly optimistic about all things financial going into April. And whereas I was dreading not being able to pay myself, I think I will be able to pay myself some money, and still stay on top of the all important business costs, so that feels better than anticipated.

    Hugs Lilt.

A SFD. Much garden tidying. Walk this evening and there was dancing in the middle.

Today I am grateful for Bob Marley (and Was), for three unforgettable evenings and many happy days, for dancing all night and walking all day, for biro scribbles and imagination. No regrets (you should have come back for me).

    Evening all,

    Hope you're ok lilt

Mothernerd I've read your post 3 times and I don't think I understand, is it meant to be cryptic? Or am I just very overly tired?

Today was payday and a spendy day. I've paid towards my debt ready for next month's chalkengs, minimum payments plus £250 extra and put away cash for holiday spending money and the kennels during the holiday. Can't wait to have a week of decluttering :)

    Sorry Fmess.

It was just a series of memories that the music sparked off. But the gratitude diary studies say you get more out of it, the more detail you put in. So I wanted to capture some of what I experienced without wanting to get too graphic and embarrassing young turtles.

    Please don't apologise!

I just couldn't figure it out and wondered if I was supposed to understand. Glad you enjoyed the music and it brought back happy memories.
