Sorry to hear about your friend the only girl, big hugs

I'm up early as I've been tossing and turning all night and finally gave up so got up. Big day at work today and though it should all go right, I'm obviously stressing about it in my sleep. Looking forward to getting home and getting my pjs on again later!

  • Theonlygirl sorry about your friend :( how sad x

Just checked online backing and my other account was out of the overdraft :) wasn't expecting anything to go in, but i had claimed some work expenses, only £120, but it means i'm completely out of my overdraft and have £13 in the bank, what a lovely sight for a sunny Friday!

Waiting patiently for pay day this month, and hoping for sfd 11 today.
    Have a lovely day everyone

Thanks for good wishes lovely turtles.

TheOnlyGirl - so sorry to hear about your friend, things like that are just so unfair.

Did anyone watch the eclipse? I couldn't get out of work, it seemed to get slightly darker here by not by much! Looking forward to seeing pictures later. Also, there were people out in the carpark at work pointing camera phones directly at the sun - you just can't help some people!

So, things are not as bad as I thought. Car turned out not to be oil pressure problem, as the warning light indicated, but a small electrics issue that caused the warning light to come on - so only £94. Hooray! Have added in my spends on groceries to my total and updated my SFDs, and it's not looking too bad! Apart from the decluttering, of which we will not speak - must get onto this at the weekend.

Shyspender - I think I would spend £500 on a new couch, a lovely long one I could stretch out on and relax! Love the mini challenges - have a great visit with OH.

Bobarella - I know it must be tempting to pay off the OD, it's so depressing when you see it creeping up - but if the CC is costing you more, I think it's better to pay that off first, then throw what you can at the OD.

Calling14 - hope breathing is better today, this weather isn't helping

Lilt - had to laugh at you not getting served. I tried to buy a small bottle of brandy to do the Christmas cake last year and got refused - and I am 33!:o

Mothernerd - definitely no beating yourself up, there is no way you deserve it.:A

Littleskintdragon - Yay for out of overdraft!:j

Have a lovely Friday all - so glad it's nearly the weekend!

Theonlygirl hugs how sad especially with little ones. Hope your alright very sad time.

Day off today, walked up hill by my house, to watch the eclipse. Perfect start to day, one of my friends up there with champagne and strawberries so crashed her wee gathering. One of my neighbours made a great viewing device with foil.

Got really cold after so cleaned my bedrooms, still having hoover problems. Off to buy new filters later.

Thanks magic cat breathing better today.

Fmess hope your day isn't as bad as your dreading.

Bob in London May only for few days though.

Grandsons pop up tent arrived today, so had to play with it. Ace for the money, insulated agst sun. He will love his castle.

    Hi all
Thanks for the advice everyone. It sounds like the best way to go is paying more off the CC. So will go with that.

Have had a really good day. The meeting with the lady tutor was a good one. I liked her, & I think she was really open and flexible. Which is great as I want something flexible that I can let grow with the right provider, & not have to sign my life away without knowing if something will work or not.
I also booked the popular local children's photographer in for another session in a few weeks, they are always good for trade, I get a small commission based on what she makes.
And the cherry on the cake, I was approached by a lady looking to find a great candidate to take on a cafe franchise within a brand new children's centre centre. If there was any way I could I would but just not the right time. Utterly thrilled to have been selected though.
    How will I top this?

Apple - were near Peckham do you know it?

OMG Bobarella I am coming to your cafe to live a day in the life of Only Fools :rotfl: - 'do you know Peckham' - I practically grew up there thanks to Del Boy :rotfl:

Am so happy to hear you have had a good few days :) very lovely to see you with spirits high. I walk past all of the local cafes/restaurants and get very disheartened for them when there is only the lone waitress sat with the chef at a table waiting for custom :( even on a Friday night. Very sad.

MagicCat I am so very glad I am not the only one!!! :rotfl: - it drives me mad. I said to my boss about it and she said 'you don't look under 18! young yes, but not THAT young'. I didn't know whether to be offended or not

Has been a spendy day. More clothes to finish off the wardrobe; ice packs for the freezer and not forgetting £50 of Osteopath. I also got some carrots, pesto, houmous and fat free greek yoghurt. Guess who is on a diet? More that I am trying my best to eat sensibly and stop snacking 24 hours a day on junk.

Anyways am off after my hour of osteo, followed by 10 minutes of pilates for beginners, to take some painkillers and pop an ice pack on my back before bed.

    Lots of love...

TheOnlyGirl I am so very sorry about your friend. I really feel for you and for her poor family. Far too young. xxx

  • Hi thanks all for your kind words. It was a very emotional morning but comforting to see so many people turn up. The church was full and there were no dry eyes in the entire congregation. She was a very kind hearted, generous lady, who touched many lives. At least she's not in pain anymore.

And I fell off the dieting wagon too. And the NSD wagon as well, come to think of that. Didn't manage to take my lunch with me because I went to work straight from the funeral. I had to buy lunch from the canteen. It started really well, with good intentions, settling down with a jacket potato and a small pot of tuna in brine (both zero points on WW filling and healthy plan) and staying within less than £2 budget. But, I needed picking up after a depressing morning, and after remembering I had a hidden £10 in a secret compartment in my wallet, I found myself back at the serving hatch ordering an apple sponge cake with a big dollop of custard! It did cheer me up, warmed my belly up and then half an hour later guilt overtook me for giving in to my cravings. When I finished work, hubby said he hasn't cooked anything and I was so hungry I could eat a whole cow. Ended up passing by an Indian take away and nearly consumed half a portion of chicken tikka biryani. So no NSD and definitely off the track AGAIN for my diet.

Fmess, I hope your day wasn't as bad as you thought and you're putting your feet up this weekend.

Bob, I would put the extra money for cc payment if the cc interest is higher than the overdraft.

Littleskintdragon, huge well done on being out off the red zone and in to the black zone with £13 credit. To some that is almost negligible but for us who have been tightening our belts so much for so long, £13 credit is a huge accomplishment. A pat on the back from me to you, congratulations.

Another late shift to do tomorrow and hopefully it will be NSD and looking forward to a day off on Sunday. ( I live in hope)

    Enjoy your weekend, turtles!!!!

    Night night.
