Welshkitty have everything crossed for you. Good luck!! Am sure you don't need it.
TiptoesDB I am sorry I posted twice and ignored you both times!! Congratulations... that is a heck of a lot paid off! well done to you and DH.. all the spare money you will have soon will be incredible!!
sazzle  I hope you get the loan!! Fingers crossed for you too.
Calling my mum calls Jelly 'grandparents revenge' as she is the epitome of everything I put my mum through when I was a kid. :rotfl: - I think she enjoys grandkids more than her own too!!
Washing machine is going around with 4 new shirts in it. One needs cufflinks and I gave mine away oops! Work will get a shock when I go in wearing shirts, so think I will break them in gently with the skirts :rotfl: and wear my new trousers instead.
Jellytot kept me awake for 3 hours last night. Lucky I went to bed at 6:30 not long after her, or I would be a mess! She has conjunctivitis and a nasty cough and sore throat. Had a temperature of 39.4 last night again, and the cough kept making her sick. She is now asleep in my bed next to me. Poor little mite. No nursery again this week! Great fun paying for something I am not using...
Hope you all have a lovely St Paddy's Day! Lots of love xx

Hiya Turtles!
Just a quick post for now because I need to go and sort supper and stuff. I have been reading and keeping up, even if I haven't managed to post.MARCH MINI CHALLENGE
Stemming from Lilt's little bit of luck, a nice little pay rise and bonus, it got me thinking.
If you were debt free or able to spend it (guilt free and the naughty step sent on holiday for a week), what would you do if you got an unexpected windfall? say, £500
Spending it on family or friends is ok, but, if you could spoil yourself, how would you do it?Feb NST #4
Food £16.55/£200, Fuel £0/£250, Ents £17.47/£180, General £4/£100, SFD 8/15, LTW 11/16

Evening turtles.
Bob tough going - cash flow is so vital. Hope situation improves for you.
Thanks Calling. Today was much better. Took double what I was expecting. If it can go back in that direction it would really help me a lot.:T" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Lilt - Sorry to hear Jelly is ill again. She doesnt have much luck bless her. And yes, it is rubbish paying for things you arent using.
Calling - Good luck getting your electric usage down. For us its the gas. I am looking forward to the end of this month when we go cold turkey on the heating. Just a bit worried about drying clothing still as weather not dependable enough yet to get clothes dry on line every day.
WelshKitty - I am thinking of you! Positive vibes coming your way.
Sazzle - Hope it all goes ok with the funding!
ShySpender - oooo love the mini challenge. If I were debt free and had a spare £500. I think right now, I'd be tempted to blow it on a luxury weekend away somewhere in the UK. Pre kids/business, we used to love the Mr & Mrs Smith range of hotels. Boutique places starting from around £150 a night for a lovely room. One of our favourites is Strattons, a place in Swaffham, Norfolk. The food is amazing, the room we've stayed in twice (including with DS) is amazing, and the bath! £500 would get us a wonderful guilt free relaxing, lovely weekend away. Including car hire! There I've blown it" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks for the positive vibes and good luck wishes everyone! Please don't do yourselves an injury, but I should hear back by the end of the month, so it's only 2 more weeks of waddling with everything crossed that I'm asking for!
I still haven't had chance to catch up on what you are all upto, but I hope you are all ok.
I'm snowed under with assignments at the moment. Have managed 1000 words towards my dissertation today but still have loads left to do!
I think I'm already over budget this month due to the expense of travelling to South Wales but am going to be as good as I can for the rest of the month and start again from April, when hopefully I will pay off my credit card in full! The garage we claimed chargeback from still haven't contested it and only have until next week, so hopefully that money is ours.
Oooh...£500... I don't know what I would do with it. Probably lots of days out with my children as I am missing quality time with them and feel like I have been neglecting them for the sake of my degree. Maybe a little clothes shopping spree too.0 -
Oooh... £500 you say shyspender. I like this challenge.
I would buy:
New dining set (plates, cups etc etc) to replace the factory fault stuff I picked up cheap when I moved in on my own!
Ironing board. Mine fails to even stand up without help now. Poor thing, it is older than me. A relic my mum gave me
Some decent earphones
More Joe Browns clothes :rotfl:
See I have that money.. and yet all I managed from my list was clothes because the guilt takes over :rotfl: funny bunny.
Thanks for the best wishes on Jelly guys. I think she has killed off her immune system and is just coming down with anything and everything. I need to fix her! Am giving her acidophilus, good bacteria but obviously not in yoghurt as that would be very very bad  - so mixed into her drinks etc as the doctor told me to. Hope it helps! That and her abidec vitamins!xx
Bob glad your day was better than you expected

Lilt - Can your doc prescribe dalivit drops for Jelly? Mix them in with juice - if she drimks it! You'd have to stop the abidec as too mich vit A, methinks. Or you'can buy the drops from the chemist. I give them to dd when I can as she needs all the help she can get! Isn't it 80% of the immune system that is located in the gut? So if the gut is compromised...
Still working onn spending £500. Don't think getting the fences done or sorting out thedouble glazing fulfils the ctiteria!
Today I am grateful for a lovely nutritionist chat, for a bouncy dd, for hm pizza (made by dh), for getting rid of more stuff to the ch shop, for frozen raspberries.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Lost a big post so here's the short version.
Happy St Patrick's Day. All turtles are honorary Irish as they are green.
Crossed for Welsh Kitty, congrats TiptoesDB, healing vibes for Jellytot, resting vibes for Lilt and Bob hoping for more good business days.
Lots of domestic stuff inc cleaning in the bathroom and sawing off a large ivy 'branch' which brought a lot of other smaller ones which were already sawn through, just interwoven like a giant bird's nest 3' across and 12' high. Have slept for nearly 2 hours.
Read the March Challenge and thought but it's not March yet. Think I would like to go back to water aerobics classes. I really enjoyed them, apart from the time I nearly drowned but they are a 'luxury' atm. Would have to start with walking up and down in the water (and might have to ask to be put in to the water on the little swingy seat thing  ). Tried the 2 swimming costumes on today, to make a decision on whether to keep or donate. Both fit. The smaller one is perfect (still had the protective tab inside, the one I've worn is looser but not embarrass me in the baths loose.Swimming used to be free for everyone but no longer.
Would also like to do some little trips. Have postponed the Blaenau trip. It was on Easter Sunday and the coach firm is in a little town about 5 miles away and the buses wouldn't be running in time to get me to the coach place - next year maybe. Have also been promising myself a trip on the 'Witchy Bus' for many years. There are two which go from Manchester up through Darwen and Blackburn and Pendle (therefore call themselves 'the Witch Way and have a silhouette Witch on the back). When I checked it cost £7 for a day ticket (maybe £10 now) and you can get on and off in all the little village places. Plus £5 for the anybus ticket to get me to Manchester and back. Would be doable with £500.
Also and I may get stick over this one. Sorry lilt but the mother guilt doesn't go away. I have been thinking that I will buy DS3 some new underpants. I have promised myself clothes and new knickers when I get down another dress size. I only have a few things but I like them and mostly they are reasonable quality as they didn't get much wear before I outgrew them and have worked my way back through everything in my wardrobe as I have lost weight. I have two black linen skirts and one pair of trousers plus another black skirt.
But DS3's underpants are a disgrace. I bought them all at the same time, I think 4 or 5 years ago and replacement's are overdue. I did buy a 3 pack in the big pre-op shop and I did ask him to take the new ones when he visited gf at Christmas. They are one of the things I intended to buy him but did IOUs for instead.
Oh I could spend money on the garden. New raspberry canes and some more raised beds and lots of large tubs with fruit trees. A poly tunnel. Can I get a poly tunnel? Now I need more space. Going to go as I am making loads of errors.
Today I am grateful for the feel of the warm flannel on my face as I wash, for being able to reach more places to clean properly, for my body working and moving, even with limitations, for the satisfaction of seeing this scrap of embroidery coming together, my book which is fun and entertaining, for making a tasty meal from a scraping of leftover
sauce and the lamb scraps from the bone.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
