Hi everybody
Sfd for me, I've been busy finishing some sewing and knitting that has been around for ages, anyway feel a lot better now they are out of the way.
Made some fridge bottom soup and its lovely, so that's lunches for work for the next two days, I will make pasta salad for the other two as its my weekend in. Didn't realise it's mothers day on Sunday until one dd phoned up today and asked if I was working!!

On the car - last year my car needed new brakes and when I took it to the dealer I was quoted £300 so I took it to a local garage that I also use and they charged me just over £100, most of the time it's the differences in labour costs that pushes the cost up.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0

Evening all,
SFD number 9 todaydon't think I've ever done this well, this early on
I'm hoping it might be my best SFD total ever this month, but I'm getting carried away already! LTW too
Trying for a SFD tomorrow but will depend on me resisting all the cafes whilst on a school trip tomorrow and if my sister comes around for tea.
Hoping to spend lots of time decluttering this weekend, especially the kitchen.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi All
3rd no spend day for me. Which is great as I was starting to feel it wasn't possible. Business very slow today, but I did get loads of cleaning done.
Hope everyone is doing well. Can't believe its the middle of the month by the end of the week. Scary.

Today I am grateful for dh taking a day off to look after dd, for dd being sooo much better, for birdsong, for a lunchtime walk without a cardi, for dd getting to sleep quickly.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

A quiet SFD. Poor night's sleep due to worrying about the gas bill but did some pottering and pairing off patterns and work-in-progress. Still struggling over what to do with the threads. Mostly the original system is still in place but have two boxes worth 'in use' which need a good tidy or possibly something more radical.
Have dried washing on the line and written and posted an important letter (small frog, a tadpole even). Done some sewing of the quilt cover and this will be a good activity for the next few days if stay feeling like this. It doesn't need much attention, just boring sewing and usually when I am not feeling well it's ideal as I feel useful without making a lot of effort and something that would be boring normally gets done.
Today I am grateful for good reading material, my bed (lots of dozing) and diabetic jam on toast (had leftovers for lunch and the toast was all I could manage for tea but I have eaten and it was simple to do).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Thanks for telling me what ltw wasi do that anyway, i work 7 hour day but dont get a lunch break, its eat while you can and where i work there are no shops. I have been naughty occasionally and stopped on the way to work, but thats rare!
Still on 6 sfd's, had to spend yesterday on pressies, hated spending!! I knew it needed to be done though, and hopefully it was all done in one day and i can keep that purse shut tightly again now!
Went out for food last night for dh's bday, but our parents paid which was lovely of them, and means we're £30 up. Pleased with that, although i feel a bit sorry for my mum. She wouldnt accept the money though!
Just realised i didnt really buy groceries yesterday, which was my plan while i was spending! Ds was crazy all day, and i needed to get home with him! Lol. He's 18 months.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.
Mothernerd please dont worry about the bill, its not worth worrying

Hi good morning turtles! I hope this Friday the 13th brings you nothing but good luck. I wish us success in saving and debt-busting.
I was so busy yesterday with work and organising an event for tomorrow, my day didn't end til 2:30 this morning. I am off work today, but still have to do final touches for the event, a couple of things to buy and hopefully when all this is done, I can take time to have relax and chill and , and hey maybe even think of celebrating the new job (haven't had time to think about that, let alone do.)
I went to the loft for the very first time. It is my husband's sole territory, he wouldn't let me in it but last night he did let me in because he couldn't find something I know I asked him to store there. I was shocked at the state of that place, and I saw lots of eBay and car boot items, I could literally see the £ sign (sigh, what have I turned into? Is that a good sign or bad?). Due to the time pressure, I didn't find what I needed. So will have to run to B & M or Home Bargains for that later today (not on my tab though, will be taking it from the event's budget).
The hungry hippos/young NST's and OH have gone to school/work with their packed lunches so that is 2 weeks of LTW/LTS, hurray! Hoping for a NSD today and maybe tomorrow.
Night shifts this weekend so Mother's Day might be a quiet day in bed.
I can't believe it's nearly the middle of the March! I can't wait to see the back of this month and see how well we did financially. This is my first month on MSE/NST and my first time to try the envelop system and strict budgeting. Going by our expenditure so far, we have only spent about a third of our groceries/household budget, the fridge/freezer and larders are well stocked, everything else in the budget is either unspent and or under budget. If we keep doing what we are doing and saved a little bit more each month (as per MMM's blog), we could have enough to have the house decorated (haven't done ANY since moving in in 2006) and re-do the gardens front and back and maybe have a holiday. I am hoping to pay off half of our remaining debt by month end. There might be something else in the pipeline that could potentially pay the whole lot off, not 100% sure yet and as long as it's not in the bank yet, I would consider it just as a potential for now. The future is looking good. A girl can dream, right? I just hope there wouldn't be a lot of curveball in store."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
mothernerd wrote: »Oh energy situation. That might also have caused the dizziness. Even though they have admitted the false reading was their fault and my bills 'bear no relation to my actual usage' have today received another bill totally ignoring the four recent readings and pretending I have used £200 worth of gas in the last month. They are trying to overcharge me for £250+ gas (difference between actual reading and their 'estimates'). Managed to do a quick calculation and checked opening hours for the MP's office. Tomorrow need to write another (hopefully brief) e-mail (they haven't mentioned the dual fuel discount which is now due), go to the library and print everything off, get DS3 to help me attach everything for the ombudsman and will go to the MP's office on Friday morning and will read up on the small claims procedure (learnt how to do it many years ago). Other account needs a quick e-mail requesting payment of the amount in credit (basically everything they have charged me for the last three months including the month they decided an empty house used £88 of gas by itself) and again dual fuel discount is due on that. So hoping for a less wooly head tomorrow (and maybe find the calculator although I am 1000 times more reliable than my suppliers figures).
May also be worth involving my new supplier as if their figures are accepted (allowing them to pocket their ill-gotten gains) it would defraud my new supplier of revenue until the actual figures catch up with their 'guesstimates', December or later by my reckoning.
I cannot believe how much sh@t they are putting you through. How hard can it be to charge a customer the right amount. Utterly rubbish. You have an ombuds complaint in dont you?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
