Sazzlebegood poor brum. Good luck with re jigging your finances for a new one.
Managed a sfd today, by the skin of my teeth. Will have to pay back daughter went for lovely afternoon tea and the cafe didn't any cash on me(they didn't accept cards). Ate too many cakes but probably burned a few calories trying to walk dog in this wind.

A quiet SFD. Lots of purposeful pottering and a little pondering.

Hi ya,
I was hoping for 1 NSD today but I had to go to Ikea on an errand, to buy a token of thanks for a guest speaker in church and I ended up buying stuff that we need in the house. The saving grace is, with my husband's help, we managed to resist the temptation of having our supper at the restaurant. We just hurried straight to where the item was, then to the cashier and on to our car and went home. Having eggs and tomato salad for dinner as I am not in the mood for cooking dinner. Young ninja saving turtle no.2 is having some of the left over bolognaise from the other day safely tucked in the freezer. And ninja saving turtle no. 3 is at work.
Just want to share some thoughts I picked up from our guest speaker:
Being rich is when you HAVE more than what you NEED.
To achieve this you need to do two things:
1. increase what you have (earnings)
2. decrease what you need.
Sounds very MSE to me, doesn't it?"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Phew, miss one day posting and there's LOADS going on! Sorry to hear of all the poorly feet, cars and peeps - but al least there's some good stuff going on too, like house sales and imminent debt freedom, diets being stuck to, and some serious Kondo-ing - way to go, Fmess, but will warn you, it's addictive.
Seriously considering Kondo-ing my DH at the mo after a spectacular spat over nothing - he's currently sulking in the kitchen while the rest of us are enjoying a movie... wonder why I often think of him as my third child? lol! No SFD today as needed some lunch goodies for DSs and a friend, but managed to bag my 4th yesterday so pleased with progress so far.
Enjoy your weekends Turtles, I've just finished my first glass of wine so nicely relaxed now ;-)#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

Hi everyone!
Spend day for me...but it was a planned spend...sort of!
Have had money put aside for a while for the final instalment of our holiday so went to pay it as its due this weekend - or so I thought! Went to tick it off in my diary and realised I am a week ahead of myself and it's not due till next week!!! At least next Saturday should now be spend free!
On the plus side, managed breakfast before work today and took one of my 'ready meals for lunch'. Also cooked a lasagne 'ready meal' tonight.
Day off tomorrow and have lots planned including assignments, interview prep, sorting bank accounts and a yummy roast dinner. DS should be playing rugby but as rain is forecast it will probably be cancelled (and I am quite glad to have a break from it this week).
Should really make a start on some chores tonight but think I am just going to remove all scraps of make up and watch mindless tv with a face pack on instead!0 -
A good day here. Found out my business rates are remaining low due to the increased relief applied this year from £217 to £73 a month for the coming year. Which is just amazing. Also recieved a cheque for £1900 from the insurance to pay off the energy bill from the claim period. Which is a huge relief for me.
Went wombling this afternoon and found 19p brand match coupon and 114 in nectar points to add on.
Husbands out tonight so I'm chilling having had a lovely evening with my son.
Tommorow we have a double party to attend, so will be hunting around in the draw again for gifts, paper & gift bags plus will get son to make two cards for his friends.
Night all.

Quick post as I am absolutely shattered after another busy shift so am away to sleep.
Gained a pound today but I think it was because I ate at about 21:30 last night.
Calories eaten today: 1059.
No exercise but have worked 12 and a half hours.
Official weigh day is tomorrow. Am feeling a bit nervous but will hopefully be okay.
:undecided

Hey all,
Thanks Fmess, no answer yet...
The Only Girl - I wonder if your speaker reads Mr Money Moustache? He advocates those two things, and goes further to say
The most important thing to note is that cutting your spending rate is much more powerful than increasing your income. The reason is that every permanent drop in your spending has a double effect:- it increases the amount of money you have left over to save each month
- and it permanently decreases the amount you’ll need every month for the rest of your life
Then on to the Buddhist centre for a great discussion about how we are constantly being blown around by outside influences, but can chose how we respond by being more mindful.

Hi Synonymous, he probably reads Mr. Moustache. Now you're giving me an idea for a book to read next. My husband's going through Rich Dad, Poor Dad, he's on his third book already. Got him Martin's Money Diet and he's aiming to read that next."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
