Great news about the pay and good use of it, can't be much longer til the mortgage is cleared and then you'll be rich and soon save up for the new kitchen 😊

I am so chuffed as it means i am paying extra off the mortgage. Only some of my direct debits have gone out but not all. We only have 11 working days till the Christmas hols but i am so tired i will not be marking till the weekend as my brain is starting to shut down. I had a haircut last night after work £22,

Greetings from a winter home. I have heated a hot water bottle and am using it to keep warm!  It is a bit chilly. The heating is only going on in the evenings for an hour or half an hour to keep the cost down. We have one work night out planned other than that i am hoping i am just seeing Andy and Crafty Hants over Christmas. It is only 3 weeks away! I'm popping out to the corner shop to get some bread and a few nibbles as i am running out of food. I will leave the supermarket shop till Monday after work.

Not sure what kind of timer you have but try 30min, then some 15min boosts. It will constantly take the edge off and keep you warm. Although it's the same overall amount of time it's more comfortable than knowing you'll have 3+ hours without it on. If it works in my old flat, it would make a huge difference in your home.

Plans sound good and you can rest.

Thank you MF, it is a good idea but the minimum my timer program does is an hour so i try to remember to switch it off manually.  I am about to wash bedclothes now and will try to line dry. I have really cut back on washing bedclothes and am no longer doing it weekly to avoid the bill costs. I also think i am going to change my shopping habits and will shop on a Friday night and on a Monday night after work to make sure i have decent food in the house so i dont keep buying junk and expensive food treats from my corner shop (which is a national rather than a local business and they dont really need my money!).

When i was about 5 i used to build a wendy house underneath the big table and take my younger siblings pram and go for walks round the house pretending it was stormy this is how the current time feels. lol. Luckily the recession will only be for 2 years hopefully although they are saying we will have another 10 years of pay cuts in the public sector.

The fab news is that lessons for next week are about a topic i know so my lesson prep will only be about 3 hours. All being well i can take the afternoon off to tidy the house. Hurrah we have only two weeks till my Christmas holiday, and soon the days will be brighter and we will leave winter behind!!!! Everyone have a great day.

It has been sooooo cold. I didnt want to freeze so have been paying £10 a day during the last week or so. So far my credit card bill is £75. Quite a few people have put their outside Christmas lights on but i am not to keep the costs down. The good news is that i have not bought v much other than food and,  of course,  chocs for my students for £20. We only have 2 days to go till the hols. I cannot wait.
