That's good going for Christmas and January SW, January always feels like such a long month to payday.

Hello yes, I feel l much better as parents came and did all my housework this weekend and fed me. I am so lucky!

I have been up since 4 preparing for some urgent inspection work. Hopefully all this nonsense will be over soon. Some great offers in this weeks MSE email. I have to check if I am able to move any of my accounts.

It's not Ofsted but pretty close! My work is all done thank goodness. Now all I am going to do is catch up on my marking which has slipped this week.

Dolly thanks for keeping me company on my avoiding wasting money challenge. :D

    Hurrah for payday.

I am not saving/overpaying mortgage instead the £500 is going to niece to help her out. I am v happy with my payrise of £12 - first one in 10 years. Back to saving next month. I cant take advantage of the bank switching offer as I have an account with the sister bank so a second payout isn't available. lol.

I have spent £3 today on sandwiches as I ran out of time this morning! In February I will not go onto fleabay at all.

All being well it should snow tonight and then I may have tomorrow off work. Fingers crossed. Then I have several days to catch up on marking.

Ok, remember when I said I wanted to avoid spending this month? Well....
on Friday my summer job friends rang me - and invited me to an impromptu meet up. I had a meal out £18.50. Next time I will just eat a first course! It was inspiring though as they are all 15 years younger than me and all have several income streams. It is great to be motivated by them.

Then the lights needed repairing and handyman turned up. Cost £110 so far. It took a whole day to go shopping for new light, take down old v posh ones and put new much lower price plain one (and £400 cheaper) up instead- Ive gone for basic ones this time as the more glam they are the more hassle they cause. I am waiting for him to come back and do another room today.

No food shopping done but i have written my lessons.
