Yikes only a few days of holiday left and much marking to do! Payday in one week.

Did I say I ordered Chinese takeaway and it made me feel a bit funny? not sick but not right? I might have to give them up.

I have just ordered a blouse on ebay for £9!!!! I will not be naughty again.

  • Last weekday of my hols!

Its really foggy outside so even though I want to do some clothes washing its not worth doing it today as tomorrow should be better I hope. I'm waiting for handyman to fit new extractor fan in the bathroom.

I have a few last bits of ironing to do and hairdresser is coming today. The house is tidy and I am totally chilled.

    • The good news is that cutting back on spending has meant I have paid off this month's low credit card bill early.
    • Also I didn't have to pay council tax this month and I still have that money left over. All being well it might mean an overpayment on my mortgage.

    The bad news is
    • I've bought a few things on ebay -perfume and blouse- I have loads and shouldn't have done it.
    • I think I had takeaway twice this month and ate out once and I have confirmed my own food is better and cheaper!

  • Sorry to hear about the dodgy Chinese ! Hope you are feeling ok.

Perfume and new blouse ... just what the doctor ordered :D and it is a council tax free month so enough for a little treat too !

Hello Skinty I had to nip to shop to replace stolen choc from the lodger last night as had a hypo. I did 'fess up as I felt so bad. Steve and Andy were laughing so hard on the phone he must have heard anyway. He just laughs at me.

Weather is glorious. The handyman has been and i have washed two loads of washing on the line and the lodger did his too. Hoorah. Quite a few odd jobs have been done by him so I am happy. Total cost £185 which has come out of rent money so I don't need to worry about that. It is so nice when he does things as I feel that the house is better and it makes me appreciate what I have. It might be a little house but its mine and I love it.

I am getting places with my marking but it is sooo slow.

  • I'm glad the lodger was good natured about the chocolate theft :rotfl:

Its good to have some nice warm weather, makes you feel like washing and spring cleaning. Maintenance is a necessity and keeps the value in your house so its always worth the spend :)

I did buy him 4 to replace the 2 I stole so hopefully he will be ok. He's away visiting his girlfriend this weekend so I am hoping he will have forgotten that I am a criminal.

What a funny holiday it has been. I haven't met up with a single friend but have caught up with most of my marking from Christmas! Still I have saved money as I haven't really done anything.

I have a few days to renew my Norton Security so I am looking for cheap deals! I did a £27 food shop today other than that I am not really planning to spend much this week till my parents come at the weekend.

Payday on Wednesday at midnight. The days are getting brighter and it is nearly the summer. It felt like summer today although I spent most of the day marking inside. Sooooo excited about the summer. I must contact the summer school to see if I can work there again as I did enjoy it last year.

  • Haven't saved as much as I easily could have with better money management, am saving and working smart now, and will likely never save as much or as many as Daniel Craig as 007,

    Hi truffy,

Im trying to be smart now but wish I'd realised earlier about wasting money on expensive pass times. lol. Still at least we are trying.

I was reading on the internet today that people think a holiday is essential. I have not had a proper foreign holiday in ages Id rather pay for my house and save for retirement my work pension will not be great as i am only part time due to illness. What is everyone else doing for retirement?

Probably living off beans on toast and will probably downsize my house so I can afford to heat it on my meagre pension ...if there are any pensions in 18 years when I'm suppose to retire at 68
