Why would age have anything to do with sex or films, anyone can have trouble with sex or not be compatible with tv programmes!!

Ive only ever gone out with people my own age, a year apart has been the most, just the way things have turned out. But those relationships havent lasted. Personally I dont think a 9 year age gap is any big deal.

My grandpa was 7 years older than my gran and they were madly in love till the day he died.

Random thought, does anyone else think bug age gaos seem to work better when the man is older? My last 2 relationships were with guys 4/5 years younger, and i think in part they didn;t work out cos being 22 is qquite a drastic difference than being 28, i'm getting to the point where at some point in the nearish future i'm going to want to settle down, where as they were no where near ready for that. That said i don;t want to go drastically older either as i know i could never be a step parent so that rules out a lot of older guys who already have kids.

Also does when you meet make a difference, cos all the above being said if i was 35 and the guy was 30, it wouldn't seem such a big deal to me.

I think a bit of an age gap is OK, (like say up to 8-10 years,) but when it's clearly a generation between you (like 20-25 years,) I think I would find it hard to make it work. I mean, you wouldn't have a lot in common surely?
No debt left now. Saved £111 in our sealed pot last year. And £272.13 this year! Also we have £2300 in savings. :j

    SPC #468 :D Target £250 for 2015.

    Yes I agree.

If a man is 22 and a woman 28, she would most likely be almost ready to settle/get wed/have babies (maybe) but he would be way more immature in many ways.

Now if he were 32 and she were 38, THAT may have a better chance of working. :)

I really do not see any problem. If you get on, you get on, irrespective of age. I have a 23 year age gap, with me, the female, being the eldest at 47. My oldest son is only a year younger than my partner...it's not a problem. I have virtually everything in common with him, from music to food to hobbies and to general outlook on life. We have been together six years. Yes, it probably will not last forever but so what? Live for the present because no one knows what is around the corner.
As for your Mum, I hope she is ok with it...my parents weren't and I have not seen them for over 6 years. Ah well.

Well all my boyfriends except 1 were younger than me. The only serious boyfriend (other than my now husband) I met when he was 17 and I was 24. We moved in together quite quickly after meeting and stayed together for 3 years. It was me that finished it as he wanted to get married and I didn't.

My husband is 3 years younger than me
The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie
