Spag bog sauce from a jar is absolutely packed with sugar - better to make your own from passata :)

Bodyweight work is great for muscle building, and walking for cardio :). Don't forget to stretch!

I agree. It's also much cheaper. I make a wonderful spag bol in my slow cooker using tinned tomatoes/passata, onions, garlic, mince, pancetta, stock, a little red wine, italian herbs and a bay leaf or two and I cook it down for hours. I also make an amazing lasagne although that takes forever.

I am aware of that. But once a week when I am hardly eating any other refined sugars or processed foods is hardly going to make a major difference. And I don't like tomatoes so using passata is not an option.

So will be sticking with a half of jar of pasta sauce once a week.

At the moment apart from the odd falling off the wagon I suspect my diet is a lot better than most and not using diet food to lose weight.

Diets don't work. One cheat meal a week is suppose to help. I find it difficult once I start to cheat. But as I have very little money I can't afford to spend it carp. So I have to get the most for my money in nutrition terms.

    Gah!
Tripod cat is outside eating the blooms off the rockery plants. She has an eating disorder, but this fad is new. Being three-legged, it is supposed to be important to keep her weight down, but she really doesn't help.

Nice to meet you NCIS fan. I'm new too, and I've found nothing but kindness, generosity and very welcome humour here.
  • Well a few months ago we got a letter from the estate agents saying the landlord wanted the house back due to his circumstances changed. 2 days after our dog had to be put to sleep due to him being very sick. They wanted us out by 10th May. 8 days before my 24th birthday. So we looked round and hunted and it's amazing what estate agents want now a days isn't it. We eventually managed to find somewhere after someone we knew pulled some strings to get us somewhere to live. The place isn't massively suitable for me as its two storeys so means stairs but I manage by going up and down on my bum. Tiring and painful but I have to manage as we need somewhere to live. Mum feels guilty over it but it isn't her fault.

Then finding a doctors as be H E double hockey sticks. First one we went to refused to take me due to the fact they don't think they can take care of my considerable care needs. I'm now also urinally incontinent on top of the rest of my issues. His attitude though could have done some adjusting, I should have peed on his chair for the look I got when I said I'm incontient. Then we rang round other places and they wanted two forms or photo ID or letters with our new address on it. Yeah we just moved so can't do that. We thought we had finally found somewhere and I went for the new patient check. I ended up having to see a doctor and OMG the attitude and arrogance of the man. They "don't believe in listening to consultants" and "treat patients holistically" and don't like treating chronic pain with medication instead prefer to "cure it with talking therapy". Yep apparently talking about my feelings will cure the huge amount of pain I've been in since 15. Then he wants to totally stop my pain medication and other medication for my severe GORD, despite the fact they are meant to talk to my consultant first, and said if I'm bed bound then I just need to "work through the pain". He was so hippy dippy I half expected to see insence and patchouli oil lol. He then kept saying that I should think about elsewhere as they might not be the right surgery for me. And then prescribed a large amount of antidepressants I use for migraines without checking my repeat that I was telling the truth on the dose! My dad went to another surgery near it today for me and had a word and they said they can't see a problem taking me on and will ring today to have a word and are fuming they would take someone totally off pain medication when it's a) helping tjem function and b) totally stopping it would hospitalise me the way they wanted to do it. It was kinda funny looking back but I'm so upset and mad. He wasn't interested in listening to me.
