Gitdog had a sleep over at nan's due to my early start. A whole night without a hairy little poltergeist rattling the baby gate. I may have to leave him there.:D

Yes. I do need to do something about his nocturnal shenanigans, being woken regularly is doing the irritability factor no good at all.

Elsien, I'm assuming that if allowed to sleep on the floor of your bedroom, Gitdog would ignore his bed and jump onto yours all the time?
Have you tried letting him sleep outside your open bedroom door with the baby gate barring his access? That way he'd be close to you and would hear you breathing etc. and feel safe?

It will look like this. You will be able to see the white text if you highlight it or if you quote it, (so please don't 'quote' a post containing a penguin onto the thread!)

It should be pointed out that if anyone is feeling very distressed or close to a crisis, they do not have to worry about what they are posting, or whether it is a penguin for someone else or not. In a crisis situation, just post! We wouldn't want anyone to feel that they couldn't ask for help in case it's a penguin! The penguin thing only applies to a general discussion situation.

- More suggestions please.............We stress that we are suggesting that we AGREE some Thread Etiquette to HELP people who might feel anxious about posting, we are not trying to IMPOSE rules, just relating this to facilitating groups, so that people feel safe and able to participate as fully as they can.

Today I have to make a phone call, eeeeeeek! It is time to renegotiate our tv, phone and internet package because I am out of contract and the bill has shot up. It is honestly so ludicrous because the only way to get offered a cheap package is to say that you are leaving, then they make offers to keep you. The thing is everyone does it! So, you know you have no real intention of leaving, the person on the other end of the phone knows you have no real intention of leaving but you have to say you are before they allowed to offer you the deals! I have gone through this every year for the last 7 years, if they have the phone call records they will see that I threaten to leave yearly. I always get an urge to say "Can we just skip the pantomime and go straight to the deals, please?" But as a lot of calls are recorded they cannot do this, they have to wait until you say that you are going to leave. It's hilarious really.
