btw calley, I like the moon on a stick comment. That'll be my phrase for seemingly overwhelming targets.

I'm not only fat, I'm mental as well, lol.

Oh well that makes two of us then.

Its a battle that we will win it just takes time.

And I want to not just win the battle but the war.

Life is for living and I want to live it. And not be scared to.

Hows this for being strange I keep kites and bubbles in the boot of my car. So when the mood takes me I go to the local hill and fly the kites and blow the bubbles. And guess what I don't care what any one thinks.

    Get a good nights rest.

    Yours

    Morning! :)

Well done on taking that first step whitewing, it was very brave of you!

Eta: I meant to watch that programme too, but a, missed it, and b, didn't know if it would be abit close to home for me. I know for sure the tears would have flowed. Sheridan Smith is a brilliant actress, she was awesome in Cilla!

Whitewing,if someone came to me and said for whatever reason they did not want to do a certain exercise in any of my classes, I'd give them an alternative no questions asked.

Please believe me when I say that most of us out there in the industry have our own struggles going on. I read a blog by a girl who is a very successful local pt who got to the point where she was over training, on a ridiculous restricted diet and crying every night because none of her clothes fitted her and she's tiny compared to me.

You never know what someone's fears or issues are until they open up and tell you.

There's a local instructor who is very fit and very good at what he does. But he's in your face. He shouted at one girl, that's not how you do an effing burpee and another girl who does his classes and is like a machine, she was doing an exercise called a lunge drive through and he said it's clear the only drive through you know is a McDonald's drive through

I'd never go to a class of his because I now have the confidence to say (at the end of the class) don't speak to me like that. But also. A class like that is my idea of hell.

I've had people do my classes who've been struggling with illness, bereavement, I've had people with learning disabilities do them with their support worker. My classes are full of very ordinary people who all have their own struggles going on.

I'm not beautiful. I'm not even pretty. Not in the slightest. I have great legs, a good butt, good boobs and pretty eyes, but otherwise, just no. And yet, I've never had trouble as an adult attracting men (high school was a different story). I once said to a drunken ex 'I'm not pretty' and he said 'No, you're not but there's something about you.' I decided to take it as a compliment.

But what I found was that I was always second choice. I was never first with my parents, when I went for jobs it was always down to me and another person and the other one was always the choice and when it came to men, for some reason I always either fancied someone who would end up picking one of my pretty friends or ended up with the guy fixated on his ex. I remember years ago, I met a guy online, we talked for years and flirted a bit and we were good friends and eventually I went to visit him. He came to meet me at the airport and when I came out of arrivals I just saw his face fall. I think he did get past it a bit and something could have happened but we stayed friends l because I couldn't get past that look. It took me a lot of heartbreak to realise that I was choosing these guys and staying with them based on my self-esteem - I didn't believe I was worthy of first place. Once that fell into place I gave up on it all - decided I was good with being single and that's when I met DH. He kind of sneaked up on me (not in a stalkery way) - one minute we were dating casually, the next, I realised I missed him when he went home and then we were buying a house together and getting married.

Was - well done on the rain walking. I'm so proud of you.

Calley - if I saw you with your kites and bubbles, I'd want to join in.

Whitewing - well done on taking that step.

When I was a kid, I lived in a really poor area. I did have a kite but nobody else did so we'd tie string to the handles of plastic bags and fly them instead. That was great fun and easier than kites.

Sadly these days I cant be outside in the wind otherwise I'd do it today. Its mega windy here.
