While on the bird theme, there is an hour long dawn chorus programme on bbc4 as we speak. Part of their "slow" week, no commentary just lots of birds. Probably not for everyone but I like it.
I'm hoping to work out what some of the birds I hear when walking Gitdog are.

Ooooh, lots of pretty birds! Cross everything for reasonable weather please everyone, if it rains it has to be cancelled-the birds refuse to fly in the rain and they don't force them. We need to be there by 9am and it is a town away so it is an early start through the rush hour, I must remember my travel sickness pills, too. Oh, and I am NOT taking a blanket in with me, it stays in the car (gulp).

I love the Dawn Chorus, elsien! With my weird sleep pattern I often hear it!

    Crappy day :(

Work was stupidly busy (oh the joy of bank holidays when you work in retail) and i'm annoyed with myself as i ended up feeling really stressed. Had to beg my supervisor to let me have my second break (he asked me not to take it as we were busy) as i felt like i was just going to breakdown in tears. :o:( I wish we'd had more staff on but the stupid sodding computer system that works it all out decided we didn;t need more people  this despite the fact at best there were 2 of of us on the tills and a queue out the door, and it was like that all day. Haven;t felt that stressed since christmas. My mood has been okay up until today. I still feel like i want to cry and i'm still annoyed with myself cos it seems silly to get upset over something thats done with now. I just struggle with stress. Its unfortunately the biggest trigger (mainly for depressive episodes thought it has triggered hyoermania too) and it worries me i don't react to stress the way most "normal" (hate using that word, not meaning to cause offence) people do.

Eurgh. Home now and trying to wind down. Keep telling myself i only have 2 more shifts then i get to see Swain. So at least thats something.

Well done for being assertive over your break, and making it through the day, MU!

It's raining here at the moment. I am hoping the weather is getting it out of its system so it will be a lovely, bird-flying morning.

Hugs, MU. It must be a nightmare working in retail over the holidays. Maybe a relaxing bath might help? Yummy food? Soothing music or a silly film? The duvet fort is always here, we have chocolate and cookies!

JM, i suppose i did make it through without a meltdown so thats a plus :o

WaS a bath is on my agenda. Got a documentary i want to watch first (The Stranger on the Bridge C4-its about a guy who was talked down from attempting suicide and his quest to find the stranger who helped him-could be triggering though so be warned), and then its bath time. :)

Just to add this documentary is very moving, i'm in tears (not in a triggered way, just feeling all the feels) :o I don't know if anyone remembers it from the time, but the guy involved was called Jonny Benjamin. He has schizoaffective disorder and is a mental health campainer. He appeared on the news and media with a campaign called #findmike. Its a very moving and emotional story, but as i said could be triggering as it does discuss suicide.

Just watching that documentary too MU. I don't remember seeing it at the time, but then again, I don't have Facebook and don't use twitter much either.

I wanted to watch it, as suicide is something that has affected my family when my uncle took his own life about 10 years ago. Totally out of the blue, but when you look back, there's things you remember that could have been signs. :( LITTLE PENGUIN A few months back, my Aunty showed me the suicide note he left. Reading it was so sad. The writing was so shaky. All I could think over and over when reading it was God Bless him. What he must have been going through and thinking at the point. While watching this programme, I have a big nervous knot in my stomach.PENGUIN END

It's both heartbreaking, but heart warming too. How one stranger can totally change another persons life. I'm really pleased for him that he found the guy.

Code, sorry you've had abit of a crappy day....no pun intended! Hope you're feeling better soon. :)

MU, sorry you've had a crap day too. I used to work in retail, and can totally sympathise how stressful full it can be sometimes (a lot of the time!). We used to have to work every Boxing Day. We were meant to get half an hour for dinner, but we were lucky if we got 5 mins, it was madness, and probably breaking the law regarding lunch breaks.

WaS, hope you have an awesome day tomorrow! Sounds like a lot of fun! :)

Thank you for drawing that programme to my attention. I missed the first few mins, but have the recorder going on 4+1 now, so will be able to see it later :)
