It could finish, or they could expect me to take it over. Have heard of lots of people who end up taking on units really early on as there aren't enough leaders.
Part of me thinks there's no way they could be even thinking that - will only just have started the leadership qualification for a start. But hate the thought that they could be thinking I'm going to solve a problem when actually I'm just going to create more. If I can't convince new boss to be flexible I won't be going at all, let alone looking to take charge.
I know there is no point worrying about all of this - certainly not tonight. But you know what it's like, my mind has got away from me and is racing.
As you can tell, I'm not good with change and uncertainty! I have to have a list and an order for everything. This amount of uncertainty is really messing with my head.0 -
On the upside you have a new job away from Mrs fart pants.
The rest will take care of itself one way or another even if it doesn't feel like that just now.
I had a near meltdown the other night because either in my quest to run in the door and have a pee I dropped my bus ticket in a bag or one of the cats launched it into a bag.
I'm fairly skint and I hate losing things, which doesn't happen often because I can't afford to.
Plus the stupid tickets are so badly designed that after a weeks use they fold over into a tiny shape.
Something and nothing but missing bus ticket for that 15 mins = end of the world as we know it.
I wish I had the default setting of my brother who cares and worries about things but nothing fazes him.
I faze myself most days. Someone else might step in and take over.
Your boss might be absolutely cool about you leaving a bit early once a week.
There's always a worst case scenario but over the past few years I can honestly say just about every single worse case scenario I imagined in my head actually never panned out like that. It was always a more positive outcome than my mind thought it was going to be at the time.0 -
I'm a worrier and my go to setting is always worst case scenario. It's something I really need to work on because when other people go through stress I always remind them of the best case scenario and not to fret.
Just much easier giving advice than taking it yourself.0 -

Same here, I hate change too. That's why I like to have a list and be organised. I like to set myself a challenge and have something to aim for. Other times though, I'm pretty laid back about things and go with the flow....usually those times are when my DH is being a stress head and is making a drama out of a crisis.
Im a big contradiction! But overall, I do need to feel organised, and if I feel organised then I feel more in control.
So at the moment, there's only this one leader and you, and if she leaves it'll just be you? I hope you manage to get something sorted soon, especially finding out if your hours will fit round it first and foremost. Then you can go from there.0 -
If it's a chore then there isn't any motivation, even when you've got the time. I was out of work for 4 months, and the jobs on my to do list (like patching up the bathroom) are still looking at me.
Can you break it down into smaller more manageable chunks? Do you have a plan for the garden, or do you just look at it and don't know where to start?
No I don't have a plan and I need some help with the grunt work but have no one to help me.
Sadly even though I had disabled husband and now on my own. I seem to get pretty close to zero help from my own family including my own father. But he is very like my ex. Would do stuff for everyone but me and can't understand why I get the hump.

I will put my hand up to that. Its whats called Catastrophising.
I did a course about worry and anxiety and that was one thing they mentioned.
An example: When I text someone and they take for ever to reply I have all sorts going through my head. I think they hate me, don't care etc etc.

Right afternoon my lovelies.
As you can see in a much better place today.
Even though I got up at 11am the first job of a the day was a walk. About 2.5-3 miles took me an hour and 15 mins. Never mind eh!
Got in 10 mins after that chucked it down. But I did go prepared with a brollie. Got in bunged a load of veg and a chicken breast in the steamer and went off and started to tidy my bed room.
25 mins later had my lunch but left most of it as felt sick and hungry at the same time. Left the washing up. I know.
Finished off my bed room and found a chunk out of the top of my bedside cabinet no idea how I did that. Decided not to buy or go to the library as I have so many books to read.
Going to sit down for a while and just veg.
And think about what I will this afternoon. Not sure read, x-stitch or watch a dvd or two that I have not seen before. Who knows the secret of the black magic box. Also only smarties have the answer :rotfl:
Yeah I know showing my age LOL!!!

Glad today is more productive for you Calley. No local teenagers who you could bung a few quid to for a bit of garden clearance work? Is it mainly lawn or overgrown shrubs and things? I find hacking away at stuff very therapeutic.
Missed my dog walk - overslept after Gitdog made me get up for a 3 am walk. He is so not in my good books today. Decided after all the talk of unfinished jobs to repair a bookcase that has been annoying me for weeks. Now wishing I hadn't after pulling it out to find a lorry load of mice droppings. The rest of the afternoon will now be spent pulling out furniture, venturing very cautiously into the loft where they were nesting last time, and setting traps.
Thanks guys! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
