I find weekends are the worst time for eating. I rarely manage a fast day at the weekends, yet don't have a problem on busy days.

Don't worry about staying in for the weekend, anytime you all stay in the chances are I am in with you! I would never dream of going out on a Bank Holiday, people everywhere! Eeeeek! Although I am out flying birds on Tuesday!

Big hugs to all feeling bad this week. It hasn't been too great for me either what with a psychotic episode and then 2 days waiting anxiously for insurance inspectors who didn't turn up. So that will happen at a later date which means the worry drags on for longer. We all have each other here and that isn't changing, none of us are alone.

In other news a vampire bit me! I have a huge itchy lump with the skin flaking off right between my neck and collarbone. It is bright red and inflamed and if I look closely I can see two tiny fang marks!

What ARE these? We've had them too. A lot earlier I had one mega giant bite - it swelled up about an inch above the skin, I kid you not. Then, about a month ago, Mr JM got bitten several times. All in the night. He actually deserted the marital bed for a couple of weeks because we were afraid it was bed bugs. He's completely fumigated the room, but still got bitten again 2 days ago. (He is back in the bedroom now.) And we have another friend, who lives 60 miles away, who's had the same thing! Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

PS Mr JM suggests Voltarol Emulgel P if you can take it - but read the info leaflet (there are lots of things it can't be mixed with including Paracetamol). I rub it in for him, and then put a big plaster over the top, and it really helps with the inflammation, and takes the pain and itching away.

Oooh, interesting, JM! I am amazed at the size of this lump, its huge and so itchy and also happened in the night! I can see two little holes so it is something with two fangs! Please thank Mr JM for me, I will try and get some of that. I can't see any strange insects in the bedroom but we do sleep with the window partially open so it may have gone again!

WaS, I just googled bite with two fang marks, and the consensus appears to be that it's two punctures close together, not one two-fanged puncture, as the bug would have to be pretty big to give you a two-fanged bite!
Two lots of mosquito 'venom' (it's not venom, but for want of a better word) would be enough to give you a large bumpy skin reaction.

I get the odd lump and bump but then Im in scotland where there's lots of midges. I can't see past sudocrem for anything skin related. Sorted out my sore eyes last week, good for eczema, I also use it when I have sore sweaty bits (in places you really don't want to know about) after exercise. You can get it in the pound shop and a tub lasts ages, I have sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate it. Good for prickly heat as well.

Calley and Pyxis you are not alone in having a bad week I have felt weepy for the past week, like you Pyxis I think its a combination of things, had a bad cold and chesty cough for the last two weeks, the shock of the washing machine flood,no job,and debt. Also my youngest son is moving out next week so I will be alone for the first time in 30 odd years.I am a bit of a loner and most of the time happy in my own company but it is hitting me hard especially as my other son only moved out in October.A few weeks ago I thought I was doing so well:( A quick question,if your mood lifts for half an hour do you feel a big sense of relief? I do but then it comes back,I am trying to keep my mind busy, watching things on the i-player ect Started waking in the early hours but if I lay there a while eventually go back to sleep
