Hang in there Melly. You know that you can talk here as much as you need. Big hugs.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
If I knew that the world would end tomorrow, I would still plant apple trees today - Martin Luther King0 -
Thinking of you and your OH Melly x x It's a hard enough thing to have to go through anyhow without all the crap you've been getting/are now getting off the OH's family0

BIL sounds like a nightmare WaS
Sounds like you used to dealing with him though, unfortunately.
Tea, the farting colleague sounds horrible....how ladylike!0 -
Lots of positive thoughts and vibes for WaS, WaSP and Millefleur.
And to Melly and your OH.
I've woken up groggy and foggy and have a missed NHS call in on my phone - generic number so I have no idea if its one of the hospital clinics, the GP or something else entirely.:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
Oh dear, hope lovely Millefleur is OK WaS, what a plonker your BIL is!
Tea, well done on making the call! Even if nothing comes of it, you've opened the door to start looking in earnest! Really hope you get out of there before the farter comes back!
Thinking of you Melly xxOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Thanks all,
exhausted and revelling in my new status as evil !!!!! who is out for what she can get.
OH is broken, they are excluding him from the funeral arrangements
Is a mess, went to sleep gone 3 got up (late) at 8.30 called work got here at 10 after running round, walking dogs, going somewhere else to feed a cat etc etc.0 -
Hugs melly. We know different. Can you maybe take compassionate leave from work so you can have a rest?
WaS, your BIL is a total bawbag. Could it be that he's just so drunk he thought days had passed instead of hours? Hope Millefleur is ok.
Tea - a farter? How lovely. Well done on making the call
JM - I've had to do the anal gland thing on dumbass dog. These days I take him to the vet and have them do it - it only costs £15 and its less frequent since we started feeding chicken wings and bones. Its nasty though. And probably easier on a dog.
Dragonette - if its important they'll call back. Did they not leave a message?
Hey there Georgiegirl (just to add a musical theme - my parents are on the older end of the spectrum and the enduring memory of my childhood is being in the car going on camping holidays to Yorkshire or Devon with a Seekers tape playing).Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
The woman I spoke to this morning said she'd email me the job description for the other role - that was two hours ago and still no email. I am v impatient lol.
I need to go out at lunchtime and get some cash out (got a meal out/book club meetup thing this evening). Not sure I trust myself to go to the cash machine at tesco and not buy ALL THE FOOD. May have to get my jaw wired.
The colleague? Farter doesn't even cover it. She fills two fridges with her food, spends a good couple of hours each day cooking and eating, then the rest of the day really letting rip. She has no shame, absolutely no social skills. if anyone dares mention anything to her she cries and says she's traumatised. Working with her has been absolutely awful. I was so excited when she was going to be off (not that I want anyone to be ill of course, but I'd much rather she was at home recovering from an operation than here). Now I feel panicked and that the time is running out.0 -
Wish I could code, contractor no here no pay and I need the money to sort my new cat out.0

Well, you know the important meeting that I had to sort piles of paperwork out for?
Well, I had a week. Did I do it? No! So this morning, I got up and had two hours before he came, and managed to get most of the papers into the right files, albeit not necessarily in the right order, and clear the table so that he could get papers out.
Oh and I sorted a few cheques, too, that I had been putting off doing.
So, if I could do that in two hours, without the sky falling on my head, why, why ,why couldn't I have done it before?
Ok it was just sorting out; there are still 'scary' things, admin-wise, I have to do very soon, one of which is extremely scary, but the papers, though back on the table, are in much more logical piles, with post-it notes on them, so that I can see exactly what I have to do.
I never used to be like this at all! So angry with myself.
This person I was meeting with is a numbers person..........numbers, though fascinating to me, are a bit like staring at a page of tadpoles. Then, at the end, the conversation turned to Latin, (don't ask!) and I started on about nominatives and accusatives and was in my element, and his face looked like mine when I look at a page of figures! So we had a good laugh about the differences between people's brains, and I felt a lot better! It takes a huge, huge effort for me to sit down and plough through figures, not because it's hard, it isn't, just takes soooo much effort, yet give me a page of Latin declensions or French or Italian verbs, etc., and I'm in my element! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)
