*waves to fellow Scots* gosh there's a few of us in here ;)

Indie Kid: I need to have daily reminders on my phone for my meds, several times a day in fact. Would this maybe help you?

Code and Pyxis: I procrastinate rediculously atm. Well done on getting things done!

Tea: Hope you get a new job soon, that sounds grim.

The NHS phoned back - it was an automated reminder for my app next week. Still need to phone a different part of that hosp. Ugh

Hoping things as well as poss for Melly and WaS

Indie kid, could you use a dosette box, so if they're still there you know you've missed them? Won't help if you can't take them later anyway, but at least you'll know.

    Hello everyone.

I feel bad for being a hopeless thread attendee ATM. :( I'm sleeping a lot still, but feeling much stronger, and we are having so much to get heads round.

One of the things the neurologist mentioned kept popping up. She felt very strongly I should be referred to a chronic fatigue support team and said something along the lines of ' it doesn't matter if its your body of your mind is busy...if you are mentally active and not moving THAT counts as part of your activity quota for the day'. Sohow does one stop being 'mentally active? I presume reading is active, television is passive? Thinking is active???if so I'm active all the time, and don't see how I couldn't be. But if that is so, and that is part of fatigue quota ( however that works) its no wonder I cannot get on my feet properly.

I'm having much more active dreams at the moment, talking a lot and being quite entertaining. Some are random ( a conversation with fir about courgettes and mint?) others are re working through my day past or imagining my day ahead. So I guess that's stress a little.

Physically, when I m up I am getting stronger ( in short bursts) ll the time.

I used the vacuum today :). Whohoooo. Benchmarks, huh. :)

    Grrrrrrrrr

Mine is really useful, apart from its so rarely right. My pharmacy has just been bought out, I went in this week, and its a different place.

I went in because the new vit d is not in my boxes, they say they cannot do that because the prescription date is out of kilter and its short term ( three months at this stage).

I pointed out something short term is harder for us defunct brain memory impaired people to remember....they just said that a GP wouldn't allow it. I'm not even bothering to ask my GP, by the time its sorted out the three months will be over. Fir is phoning me twice a day to remind me. Stupid, huh?

Lir, on the mental activity front that makes sense if you relate it to dogs - my trainer is always saying exercise alone won't tire Gitdog out and that half an hours training is more effective than a long walk in knackering him.

Not sure what the Lir equivalent to Gitdog training is though - maybe it's all the planning and thinking ahead type of stuff with the renovations etc?
I could chuck chocolate your way at regular intervals when you're mentally chilled if that helps? The thread version of clicker training!

Not chocolate please, no me gusta mucho. A scratch behind ears would do though. :D

Renovations, no, I accept we are on a break now. I am always thinking though. I just cannot stop. I find this really is a problem in other areas of life ATM too.

Could you learn meditation or mindfulness? Might help to .... well, not exactly to slow the thoughts down, but you can (I can, I mean) get to a state where they are like someone else's thoughts and you are more detached from them. Plus meditation has been scientifically shown to give very deep rest.

(So why don't I do it every day? What an idiot I am....)

FOH going away tomorrow (4am!) for the weekend. Have been so looking forward to the peace and quiet. Even when things were good with us I've enjoyed having the place to myself. But now he's packing I'm distraught :(

Keep thinking I'm not going to see him again, which is ridiculous...he's only going to Spain for two days! But then I realise that soon he will be going for good and that sets me off again. Am a wreck.

I used to meditate a lot. I just cannot know .....its like trying to part the sea. I do use self hypnosis tracks or meditation to go to sleep sometimes. ( but often still think over them and spend most of the time hauling mind back I track so have to repeat mentally the voice track to try and keep some focus:rotfl:) . I also used to practice mindfulness and recently ( I guess last summer now) tried again but felt too busy too vulnerable and too tearful. I still feel its a good technique for me for getting through pain peaks, but for this I feel its not some thing I am capable of right now.

Did I say I have restarted yoga? This is very indulgent ATM, but its helping tremendously. Without wanting to go into a a no go area for the thread I find the focus beyond the physical but into myself and where I am also very helpful. My teacher is very spiritual and a very, kind and encouraging person. He's brave and shows no fear or stress about my medical issues or physical state and just encourages me to find my own way round situations, checking I do so safely, and really encourages things he thinks are good. I'm pleased with my progress and also amazed at how weird some of the ways my body has to adapt to make a best attempt, so long as it works for my body and is safe my teacher encourages this. We end each session with a yoga nidra, and I find that meditative state I also wander but following the Stretch its easier.
