Oh WaS, I am sooo sorry. She was a lovely lovely person, by the sound of things. Do post on here for any support you need, and give WaSP a hug from me as well as lots of you.
Can we hope that when the funeral is over, and your grief is abated a bit, you can take consolation in the fact that you will have to have less to do with the dreadful BIL?
Oh hold on though. I have taken your post meaning she has suddenly died. But do you mean she is in hospital somewhere and BIL doesn't know where she is?Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
No, don't panic JM! She isn't dead, we hope! He has literally lost her whereabouts! He doesn't know what hospital she was taken to and managed to offend the local one so much when trying to find out that they're refusing to talk to him again! She is likely fine, he has just literally 'lost' her and only told us two days later.
Orrr, the local hospital has been told not to tell him under safe guarding rules. I only just thought of that...Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Oh phew! Talk about over-reacting, I saw 'he had lost M' and got completely the wrong end of stick. At least I managed to realise I might have done!
Is WaSP able to ring round, now you know she needs tracking down? (Yes, indeed, words fail about BIL.)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Heavens above, how does your BIL even manage to function?? I can understand how someone might be taken to hospital and then you realise you don't know which one - that can happen. But to not even mention it to you for days is unforgivable!0

So I looked out the batteries, found the step ladder, dragged it downstairs, moved the shoes out of the way, climbed the step ladder, unscrewed the cover on the alarm, realised I needed a screwdriver to get to the battery, climbed back down, went to find a screwdriver, climbed back up, changed the battery, climbed back down....
...and the one upstairs beeped again. Yup. I changed the battery in the wrong smoke alarm.
Sounds like an Only Fools and Horses episode! :rotfl:*cries with jealousy*
The only thing I did before work this morning was get cat food in my eye.... don't ask.
Easy done....yes, I have managed to do that before too!0 -
With being a newcomer to the thread, I've obviously never heard about the BIL before, but he sounds a right *insert relevant word here*
I hope you manage to track her down shortly, and most importantly, she's ok and it's nothing serious.0 -
I called the hospital for WaSp. Milliefleur has apparently just arrived at the hospital, literally 5 minutes ago. So why is BIL saying he has lost track of her after she was taken to hospital 2 days ago? To the hospitals knowledge she wasn't in any previous hospital which means BIL's timeline makes no sense.
She is comfortable but they can't tell us anything yet as she has literally only just arrived and they haven't done anything but check that she isn't in any danger. They can't even say if they will be keeping her in at this point. They have made a note on her file that her DIL will call back in 2 hours to see how things are.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France

Mr JM says that the ambulance should have left something at Millie's flat to give a contact number for the service. I suppose BIL hasn't seen that, or has lost it?
Ooops, this post is now out of date. Grrr, sounds as if BIL is drunk or winding you up deliberately. What a relief, though! Can you get some more sleep now, as obviously nothing is liable to happen for at least 2 hours? xxxxEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Great news that you've tracked her down (which didn't actually seem that difficult to do - what has he been doing for two days??)
Hope she's ok xx.
Right - I have to make a phone call about a job. This is v much on the scary list. Someone give me a kick and make me get on with it.
ps - am strangely relieved to hear that pet food in the eye is a common affliction0 -
BIL is indeed drunk, JM and yelling down the phone at WaSp at how bad the NHS is and how dare they say they won't talk to him. This sounds perfectly reasonable given the state of him, it's only 9.15am and he can barely speak.
WaSp is going to sleep for a few hours because if they do admit her he will visit later today. They have my phone number and I will call back in 2 hours as they asked. BIL was trying to insist he should get a taxi to the hospital now but hopefully Wasp has put him off, the staff do not need someone that drunk turning up at this time of the day and neither does poor Milliefleur.Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened - Anatole France
