Mmmm Mars Bar cake! I need the biggest slice please!!!! :D

Welcome Georgie, sorry about your Dad.

Code - I'm always bouncing away whenever I listen to my music in the office. I can't help it. Even my typing goes bouncy! People must think I'm a nutter.... :p

Did anyone get pranked this morning?! I didn't, nor did I really prank anyone but I did wake DH up with a pinch and a punch which went down like a lead balloon as he didn't know what was happening, why was I punching him awake and why was I laughing and running away?!?! :rotfl: We're having a silly contest as to who can get the most pinch/punches in this year. We're currently at 3-1 to me! :T

A Fast Day? On a Wednesday? Don't you do Mons and Thursssss's?????

Anyway, you have doubtless had a MUCH better day than me. I have had a mega-stress day at work, which has meant I didn't dare step away from the phone (even on rare visits to the loo I had the office door open in case someone important rang). The result of this was that I had 'nothing' to eat. 'Nothing', in this case, meant chocolate cake, chocolate, and gingerbread. The result was that by 4pm I had a mega-strop following a particularly annoying email, and walked out to get some lunch. I felt Much Better after eating something more sensible.

Honestly, it's a lot lot easier fasting than it is just eating sugar, IYSWIM. I felt really awful after a day when I'd eaten loads, but with nothing proper to eat!

Hope you have something proper to eat this evening!

*crashes into thread in search of Mars Bar cake*

Ha ha, specially warm welcome to GG and the CAKE!!!! :D (I really miss my dad too. And so does Mr JM, whose own dad left when he was quite small. He sort of adopted my dad as his too - I would often come home to find them chatting away on the phone, in a conversation which had obviously been going on for ages :heart::heart:
    !

That's so lovely JM! :) My DH loved my Dad too and got on with him very well. He especially loved his cheeky sense of humour! My Dad was the most kindest, gentlest and funniest men you could ever hope to meet. I miss him so much.

*Hands in the Mars Bar cake and runs from the stampede!*

New people bearing cake? I'm in. :)

Is your poorliness mental or physical Indiekid? We still have horrible flu like lurgs going round in this part of the world.
I'm going to have a whinge if I may about a rubbish day trying to get urgent legal advice for someone who is really too unwell to appreciate their difficulties, only to be told the local (free) Law Centre is so inundated they're not taking on any more cases in the foreseeable future. Cutbacks in legal aid really starting to kick in, I guess. I really do think a lot of people out there just don't see the impact of the cuts on the more vulnerable sections of society. Not the "benefits scroungers" off the telly, just the silent ones who are probably in the majority. I didn't appreciate just how much mental health services were the poor relation to other social care fields.
Right, I'll get off the soapbox now.

Today's Gitdog/parent trials and tribulations. Parent has taken up knitting for a children's charity. This has not proved easy - after all when there's a bright ball shaped object (ie wool) jiggling around enticing at nose level, what's a Gitdog to do? Some things just can't be helped.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
