Hi folks! Room for one more? I've been lurking for quite a while now and have been wanting to join in for ages, I should have done so ages ago, but I felt that if I did and all my thoughts and feelings came out, then the flood gates might open and never stop....but now I feel ready to....you all give such good advice.

You've built such a lovely little community here, like a little family, and are all so supportive of each other! :)

I sadly lost my beloved Dad at the end of December, he was everything to me, my best friend and my partner in crime. In general, I'm coping fairly well but I do have a lot of thoughts, worries and regrets that keep on plaguing me....especially at night. Instead of sleeping, I'm lying awake going over things in my mind....so it's fair to say that the lack of sleep is getting me down and some days are harder than others. This seems like a lovely safe place where I could get my thoughts out if needs be....if that's ok?

Welcome Georgiegirl. Feel free to ask for all the help/advice you need or just rant away. Everyone in here is lovely and so helpful.

Is it normal to listen to your music in the office and start bouncing away?

Big hugs, Georgiegirl. I've been there and it's hard.

Thanks guys! Plain old Georgie will do. I don't know why I tacked the girl bit on the end when I created my account? I wish I could change it. People probably think I'm in my 50's/60's and listen to The Seekers! Disclaimer: Not that there's anything wrong with that of course! Just I'm in my 30's and more into my rock music!

I feel abit like a gate crasher joining so long after the thread was created. :o

Code, it's perfectly ok IMO! Reminds me of that Dairy Milk advert!

GG - I love that dairy milk ad! But then.... I love dairy milk :)

Hello, btw. So sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope that our particular style of support (think duvet forts, biscuits and animals :D) will be of some help xx.

    Me too! Especially Caramel!

I'm sure it will. :) I love how you all support each other, and you all really do offer excellent advice.

Regarding the biscuits and animals, I've got a mad as a box of frogs smokey Persian, and some (made by the MIL) Mars Bar Cake....it really is the best! Be warned though, once you've had one square, you'll be back for more! :p

*crashes into thread in search of Mars Bar cake*

Ha ha, specially warm welcome to GG and the CAKE!!!! :D (I really miss my dad too. And so does Mr JM, whose own dad left when he was quite small. He sort of adopted my dad as his too - I would often come home to find them chatting away on the phone, in a conversation which had obviously been going on for ages :heart::heart:

SS - that sounds like a nightmare. Can you get a referral to the National (Hospital for Neurology)? Might be worth making the trek to London to get a real specialist!

TL - clock is still ticking, less time to go now!

I am having one of those days where the clock is going so slowly and I just want to put my head on my desk and have a wee cry.
