HBS- I often find that too. I'm on the autistic spectrum which I guess explains why I don't react to shocking/horrifying/sad/etc things the way I 'should'.
I have never been the type to overreact in a good or bad way and think people are odd for being so...emotional, if that's right?! I see the world in a fairly black and white way and can detach from everything quite easily. I actually like being like this as it makes life simpler without having to deal with the massive stresses that 'normal' people seem to cause themselves in everyday life over what are pretty generally first world problems!
Sorry that you're feeling rotten Pyxis, hope the day in bed helps and you enjoy the workshops. Can you take a back seat at the workshops if you need to?
SWC- hope you've managed to get an appointment with the GP today. Remember that the Samaritans are always there if you feel desperate and you're not truly past helping!
Thanks for sharing all the experiences around ED yesterday, it was truly fascinating and I learnt things I never knew. Well done to all of you for sharing and I hope that it was cathartic to get it out there.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

HBS, I am not on the autistic spectrum but also react to threads differently emotionally to others on here too.
LiR, your cats are seriously cute!
Elsien, Gitdog has a very special mommy!!!
Hope you feel better soon pyxis.
Code hope dumbass dog eats are better soon.
I have just booked my flights to the extra part of my trip, I am doing the 900km walk of the Camino de Santiago then going on to Morocco to explore for a couple of weeks. I am hoping as well as the travel journey I willbe successful in a weight loss journey too, i have been obese or morbidly obese my entire adult life, so far I have lost just over 3 stone on this trip.0 -
Holds head in despair to chorus of capitalised WIIIIIINGS.
With the excess numbers of boy birds from last year there will be plenty of wings in the freezer for the cats soon. Spring is really when we have to make the decision who stays and goes, otherwise they attack each other when free ranging, and they can do horrid, horrid damage to each other.

Lir, I feel your pain. Dumbass dog gets wings everynight. He doesn't yowl if he doesn't get them, just sits in front of me with his ears up staring until he gets them. If I ignore that, I get the head dropped in my lap, followed by the running back and forward to the fridge. Its very cute but also makes me feel bad if I don't have any for him.
I don't think I could choose which chickens are going to the freezer. I'm too soft.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Not of these birds, they are not nice eating birds. I don't have the right birds ATM and because I'm not trying to breed ATM I'm not doing anything about getting them. The rest is fed to the dogs mainly, in different sections to suit the dog. The cats might get some....breast for example. I do not feed our drumsticks on the bone as our birds are VERY free range and older, so they are quite strong weight bearing bones as poultry bones go. I'm sure they could cope, but they get plenty of other bone, so no need to.
My preference for us for eating birds is actually a dual purpose eating/ laying bird, rare breed old breeds. ....but I got carried away with having fun making cool hybrids for a while, then some one gave me my pretty silkies, and we ending up in a big mess of birds, because I couldn't tell whose egg was whose:o
Code monkey, it has to be a very cruel hard hearted and insensitive person oblivious to their needs NOT to step in. They don't just have tiffs, they maul each other, causing pain and fatal injury over time. There is a reason !!!! fighting was banned.0 -
Oldestgnome!!! 3 stone! That's brilliant! :T
All that trekking and minimal snacking time, I suppose!
Gosh! What do your trek-mates say? They must have noticed!
Maybe TeamWaS should go out there on a weight-losing trek/holiday!
Hope it wasn't due to upset tummies from strange water and foods?(I just lurve spiders!)

Aargh - please indulge a small work whinge, if you'd be so kind
We have the most annoying cleaner here. She's sooooo nosy, and lazy. There is literally one person (me) working in this building. It's an office. I spend the day at a desk. That's it - not in the slightest bit messy. But somehow she's in here ALLL AFTERNOON pretending to clean and generally being v irritating. She rummages through the fridge, moves things on desks, and often just stands and stares.
If there are other people here she asks them where they've come from!
I know it's not a massive problem in the grand scheme of things but she really sets my teeth on edge the whole time she's here.0 -
tea could you say to her nicely that she's disturbing your work, so you'd be grateful if she could do elsewhere?
It's a bit odd having cleaners during office hours! Aren't they usually before or after hours?(I just lurve spiders!)
