journalist wrote: »Hello everyone,
I am a journalist with the Daily Mail's financial website, www.thisismoney.co.uk, and would like to have a chat with as many of you as possible about your Abbey situation. If you could e-mail your contact details to alan.o'sullivan@thisismoney.co.uk or give me a call on 020 7938 6266 I would be greatly appreciative. Hopefully we can get your particular situation sorted out and highlight this pressing issue in the process.
Many thanks,
Alan.
Alan .......Where were you weeks ago when we needed you so badly ?0 -

Yes, molley is right, some people contacted newspapers and programs when they were at the worst with Abbey (july was for the number of people messed about), only working lunch bothered enough.
By now, people have their cards or they have moved their account to another bank.
Maybe the people whose card expire in three days time will have problems, so they might be posting here and possibly be interested in contacting Alan, but at the moment it seems that not many people are posting in this thread anymore(hopefully because their problem are resolved).0 -
I emailed everyone I knew and still had no reply. Even radio stations
as said, unless it goes all pear shaped in October with late cards I doubt people will bother now
Please do not feed the Trolls!0 -

Spark, you don't see many posting as we are still waiting, my card was garenteed to get to me yesterday (10 working days after the 3rd re-issue, promised to me by the rude agent Varinda) and guess what! NADA.
I have spoken to so many rude unhelpful Abbey people that I think I had enough, All my accounts (5 accounts) are with Nationwide and Stroud/Swindon now:beer: . If it will appear than it will.. if it's not going to.. than I really can't give a flying banana..:T I will officially close all my Abbey accounts in October.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Avantra, maybe you should try to contact Alan and see what's coming out of it.
It's not the only thing that doesn't work, I've tried to reach my statements online but the service, once again, is unavailable tonight.:mad:0 -

Well this gets better and better, after accepting the £150, and having my card at the end of August (4 weeks late) my old landlord (i moved out 13 months ago) has given my dad some post that came for me (they are friends) and guess what 2 ABBEY DEBIT CARDS!!! So after telling me that they were never sent out, they actually went to the old address, i'm going to go mental!0
