Abbey Debit Card, Where Is It?
Comments

Is there anyone who was with National and Provincial building society who still has accounts with Abbey (who took them over) I closed every account I had because Abbey were so poor a decade ago,N+P were a very good company and I cant understand why anyone would choose to bank with these jokers.I have a deep burning indifference0

Seems Abbey staff have become a bunch of lia's
At the bank or the fact that they told me they sent the card?
Am I the only one without card now?0 -
No the Bank....I can't believe how many excuses and lie's they have told us, and it doesn't seem to be stopping
What gets me is, July was bad enough, you'd have though they would have it sorted, but now August and still card delays  I think people with cards running out end of this month sold be very worried.
Sorry if you thought I meant you. Please do not feed the Trolls!0 -

No mate, same here was told card was reorderd on 04/09 will take up to 10 working days max so today is day 10 and guess what , nada.
Started slowly to move my accounts to HSBC and Smile as I am the quiet client, I don't make a fuss but I will just move my business somewhere else, it is easy with HSBC they do it all for you.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

No nealallen, i didn't thought you meant me, I just was wondering which party you thought was lying.
I find very strange that the staff in the Abbey branch didn't know about the fiasco, and she was genuinely surprised at what I was telling her.
I think it's the card department that is to blame, they are the ones to send the cards, they had my address passed on to them, why don't they send the cards when they say they do?
Of course the ones whose card expires at the end of this month will be worried, I've been worried all august seeing the difficulties experienced by the people who had a card expiring in july.
I still think that there is more to it than meets the eye.
Why not think that maybe they want to change some card numbers as some might clash with the ones on santanders system? After all, they are changing the credit cards? (I would accept one time when they omitted to send the card, not two or three, seems very strange to me that they cannot send the card with the original number and pin and the rest, but they can send new cards without too much problems.)
Something that I would like to know, are the Abbey credit cards sent from the same place? Because then they had my address allright, I got the two cards without problems.
avantra, so much for having spoken to a manager.0 -
Now i really am PI**ED off!! Still no card from (sh)Abbey but got this letter instead....
Dear Mrs Douglas,
Unfortunately, we have been unable to renew your photo card,(i had my photo on my card) due to changes in our production process. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
As a result, we have now issued you a standard Abbey bank card to replace your photo card (You will still have the same functionality, as you have previously had with this replacement card).
We will let you know as soon as the new photo card is available.
If you have any questions, please contact us on 08459 724 724
Yours sincerely
Steve Shore

Now what has really annoyed me is that for the past 4 weeks i have been told that my card has already been sent out on 2 seperate occasions and now they tell me that they are issuing me with a "standard" abbey card!
At the moment, i don,t really care wether i get a photo card, library card or birthday card just as long as i can use it to pay for things online, insert in a machine and withdraw money and use it as a cheque guarantee card!!!
Bl**dy Abbey:mad:!! Bl**dy liars ! Stop telling us that the cards have been sent out and that we should have received them if they clearly haven`t been sent out!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Blimey Shaz, you have beaten me to it!
I got exactly the same letter. I had choosen a kitten for my card then.
It did cross my mind I would get problems with it as now everything is transfering to Santander way.
But why oh why did they tell me three times that the card was sent, when now it is obvious that they've never sent the card in the first place.
They do not say if the new card will have the same number.
If they change the number, we'll have to wait as well for new pin, new passcode and new registration number.
When will they let us now, this month? Next month? Shall we wait? How long? Shall we call?
How many of those people who took the option to have a photocard had their card late? The same amount of people who ended up with an unconfirmed address?
At least we know that they got our address right. (That's something).
If I had call saturday, like they said, I would have had a brand new card issued, then would have had to wait for the rest. Lucky I didn't as I am hoping the new standard card will have the same number and the same pin as my old one.0 -
Worked it out to day 80 days and still no card been waiting for mine since the 30 of june this year. We have a running bet at work "how may days until i get my new card" there is about £50 at the moment, wonder if i will get to my target of NEW YEAR. In all honesty i'm fumming but it has gone past that now, even the people behind the bank are amazed i have not got my card yet. They say the most stupid things "still no card then?" would i be there withdrawing cash if i had my card!!!
