Just received a reply from Abbey to my complaint about the mess re my replacement card saying they were sorry and hope that they have addressed the issues I raised and blah de blah de blah .
What they did not address was my asking for some financial recompense for all the phone calls hassle etc so I will be taking this further with them...... Watch this space .

    same here mate.

a lot of dosh with them but very worried as to their it systems.
There is someone on this board who mentioned that abbey cannot find their account!!!.

Any news on when this IT system change started or will be over?
It was my savings account they lost and it is still lost. They promise to ring me and dont. They dont know how to retrieve it but keep messing around. They cant seem to tell me how to resolve the issue. It seems no use compaining as their complaints dept are only interested in telling you bank charges are on hold, dont seem to understand not everyone is claiming charges back.I dont know what to do, I only wanted the account so I could put money into it using on line banking.Im so frustrated by it all.

Still no card. I will go friday at my local bank see if they got it, before calling them again. I cannot go to the bank before then.
Heard Nick Ferrari on LBC having a laugh again about the length of the queues in Abbey banks. Maybe one day he will enquire why.
I feel we are very few having problems with the cards at the moment. At least not many people having their card expiring in august seemed to have many problems. Not like in july and august.

Can't believe people are still waiting for their July Debit cards

  • Well it's now 10th Sept, and still no sign of 1 of my cards that expired at end of July. Got onto the branch (just on the off chance cause both cards have been ordered SO many times now) Blimey! One's turned up there!! Went and dutifully queued up for ages and was handed one of my replacment cards. Went to the ATM to try out the most recent PIN I've received (5 of them so far) and guess what "It worked" I nearly fell over. (Call me cynical!) Oh! hold on a mo though, I've just tried to purchase shopping in the local supermarket and you've guessed it.....it dosen't recognise the number??? So went to the local garage and tried there, but still not recognised?? Yet it works in the ATM!??? Oh well beggars can't be choosers! And I've just had a call from my Internet provider cause they couldn't take their payment from my account for the last 2 months so have 2 x £5 late payment fee's. (I'll put them in with the phone bill and any other charges I'm being screwed for and pop them in the post to you know who) I'm not gonna ring them until I get my other card (Sorry, I meant IF I ever get my other card) because I can already hear them saying "we'll cancel that card and order you another" "it's due a mix up with our leccy bill, we got cut off so we've had to re-boot the systems....." when really what they mean is "our CEO trying to keep the board happy and hide all this from the media so screw you lot"!!

I have just realised that the letter I referred to above has come fromCS in Bradford in repsonse to an e-mail I sent on 22 Aug and not a decision re my complaint to Milton Keynes so maybe I'll get some dosh yet

We hope it settles the matter? Of course it does  It wouldn't surprise me if you called them about the latest offer and they say, 'We never offered you £100'
