Don't send an e-mail .Take the time to type out a letter setting out your points lucidely but firmly and don't go off the rails .Keep it polite and post it Recorded Delivery .Ask them to acknowledge receipt in writing

aaarrrggghhh still no cards:mad: 2 more days before meltdown.:wall:
I keep withdrawing money to have some cash just in case.
I have organised some payments online for the end of september to be sure that my credit cards are paid, just in case they take a month to send the card, as I guess when my card expires I won't be able to sign on to my online account and organise any payments.
I am completely cheesed off. I should have had my card by now.

And I'm getting no luck with any replys from the emails I sent to the papers. Can anyone else suggest a newspaper I could send this too?

Ha ha - revenge is sweet - I had an online survey about banking to do the other day - and one of the banks in question was Abbey! :rotfl:
I think they got the message!
Our account with A&L is now live - I'd advise anyone who's had BS from Abbey to move accounts if you can - a few banks are offering incentives to switch at the moment. Hit Abbey in the pocket - it's the only thing they understand - especially if everyone does it!

People keep saying that but how do you know something similar or even dissimilar won't happen with your "new" bank .

Well you don't, but there are enough banks to move around to if need be, and certainly no need to help one profit from your cash after messing you around.

I think the important point to remember here is the shi**y arrogance and attitude Abbey have shown in their handling of this affair. It wouldn't be so bad if they had sent a letter in advance to say sorry due to blah blah blah...your card has been delayed etc etc. However they have totally disregarded customer service and displayed their arrogance through their incompetent call centre staff.

I don't know - but I can only hope that the new bank will not be as patronising and tell such bare faced lies over the phone as Abbey have done to me over the past few months.
So far visits to the branch of the new bank have been fine, and any queries I've had have been answered perfectly by themselves and the customer services helpline.
I can only speak as I find - and if I get peed off with this bank, I'll move again! :D
