Well The Promise That My Card Would Arrive Today, Guess What Not A Thing. See Thread Number 94. Phoned Saturday And Told That Their Advisors Had A New Update That Morning To Tell Customers, That They Are Working flat Out To Get Cards Out, So All The Other Phone Calls I Made And Was Told it Had Gone Out was Rubbish. So Phoned Again Today And Told The Card Had Gone Out On The 2nd August And That It Was Now Being Cancelled And To Await For Another One It Would Be Another 5 Days. So Almost Three Weeks Without A Card. I Really Did Not Want To Cancell But He Seemed Very Keen To Do So, Which Makes Be Think Nothing Had Gone Out In The First Place. Went Through To Complaints Who Said It Was Due To Computer Problems, Combined With The Floods And The Postal Strike. To Add Insult I Have Just Received Today About A Premium Banking Number Especially For Valued Customers (not For Long). I Have Also Receivced The Banking Terms And Conditions - Funny Can Sent These Out And Not Hendered By Floods And Strikes. I Now Await Hopefully For The 18th August.0

You might well find that if the previous card was "cancelled" then the new onw will have a new long number and that will probably mean you will need a new Pin Number and if you use on-line banking then you will also need to ask for a new Registration Number and a new Passcode .
You mentioned this

What was it you got about this ? You message doesn't make this clear
If it's a telephone number why is it a Premium Number if it is for valued customers ?0 -
As an aside .Have a look here
http://www.saynoto0870.com and do a search for Abbey if you are looking for alternative numbers to the 0870 or 0845 numbers0 -
Even more fun! Guess what arrived in the post this morning.... card number 3!
It has the same card number & security code of the other 2 I received on Friday & Saturday, but this one has a different issue number.
I wonder if I'll get another one tomorrow!0 -
Guess what? Still no card and no Ebanking. That means I can't even pay my Mortgage.
I won't even ring them today cause will really upset someone. I'm so P**sed off now, this is beyond a joke. Please do not feed the Trolls!0 -

So stressed about all these, no its not a premium number its a Premium Banking section where advisors are specially trained to help with everthing from checking balance to a full review as quoted from their letter. So what does that emply that the other advisors are not specially trained!!!!! I had phoned this number and was given the same old promises and excuses as the others. Has anyone noticed that the tape of the music they play is cracking up, along with photo copies of the complaints proceedure leaflet (run out of originals). Also been informed by a friend that my local branch has just put up a notice saying "our staff are here to help, and will not tolerate aggresive behaviour" I do agree with this, but why could they not have put up a notice to warn customers of the trouble they are having sending out cards. I give up.0 -
Abbey are not budging at all about this. I have spoken to 3 different advisors, all totally rude, not caring one bit. Again I have been given the speil (sp?) about computer problems combined with strikes and floods. Fair enough, but why should I be inconvenienced? One girl I spoke to (when I explained I cant get to a branch as I work Mon-Sat and even if I could it is gridlocked with roadworks and no where to park) asked me why I didnt park elsewhere and walk to the branch??
No e-banking, she will send out another passcode etc, but will take 14 days.
Will raise a complaint and will take 8 weeks. Apparantly I will be kept in contact all the way through with what is happening although with their 'postal issues' god knows how that will happen!.
No mention of goodwill/refunds etc and when I mentioned this was told by 3 different advisors no. I have charges on another account as I usually transfer money across to pay the bills that come from that one - not a care in the world for Abbey.
Wil be looking to move very soon! I complained about them a while back and everyone jumped on me saying be patient etc. But now look what is happening! I should have got out then! lol:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin0 -
I Have Given Up All Hope With Abbey, Just Tried To Access My E-banking And Now Thats Unavailable. So Cannot Transfer Any Money Over To My Account To Pay By Cheque, The Things I Normally Pay With My Debit Card. This Has Now Become A Complete Nightmare.0

Your Comments Are Noted, But What Do You Do When Your Are Advised To Cancel The Card, Especially After My Friend Who Also Banks With Abbey Had Her New Card Intercepted In The Mail And £1000 Taken From Her Account (some Time Back). Again It Would Have Been Helpful If The Advisor Could Have Told Me I Would Not Be Able To Access The Internet. I Did Ask If My Card Could Be Sent By Special Delivery, No Is The Answer They Do Not Do That. My Cousins Bank Send His By Courier. Thats What I Call A Service. I Was Told Saturday That No Cards Had Been Sent Out For Me. So Who Do You Believe.0
