I wasn't suggesting that the Op was trying to buy his way into her pants, but 11 dates sounds as if it's more of a friendship thing, and if mates go out it isn't just one that always foots the bill.

I agree, but from visitng here and talking to people in the real world, there is still some expectation that the male pays and does all the driving.
Sometimes they say you have to wait for the good thinngs in life, I do recall a recent thread (have I been dumped) where it appears the poster expects the guy to do a lot of chasing.
I know the OP wasn't asking that, from what he describes, I would fear that he was being taken for a mug, but it's not me in his position.

Perhaps 'cos of my age i'm old fashioned , or lets say tradional. But thesedays couples go Dutch as the norm.
But lets see when the Op comes back if he answers.

You would like to think so, I don't go out to bars and clubs as much nowadays, so more recent dates are from online dating, looking at many profiles it does seem that women are looking to be looked after financially .
It does depend what type of dates the OP are reffering to, if they are just say coffee or light lunches/meals or inexpensive pastimes, then he maybe being a bit impatient where as his friend may just see it as platonic.
  • Just my opinion but it sounds like she's not got that 'spark' of physical attraction to you - if she's been on 11 dates, she's obviously hoping it's going to kick in but I wouldn't be sure after this long. for me it's one of the best bits of getting to know someone more intimately, nice long snogging sessions. I wouldn't go on 11 dates with someone without finding out if they were any good. How's your oral hygiene?

    And now the final frame

Been dating a woman for almost two months, a total of 11 dates and still we haven't had a proper snog! I think this is strange and have raised it with them, they have said they don't know me well enough.

For me, a good snog is the key to a relationship. Opinions please, am I being too pushy?

Maybe you are fun to go out with but something is lacking?

Are you romantic? How have you discussed it?

It may just be me but the highlighted bit above seems a bit 'laddish' If I was seeing a man I would prefer nicer words than 'fancy a good snog'.

I once went on a date with a guy and we had a great time - but at the end he shuffled towards me and said "What do we do now? ... Shall we kiss?" Nowt more off-putting than indecision - I'm sure the date would have gone much better if he'd just got on with it.

11 dates does seem a long time to me,

but then i pretty much kissed the current bf as soon as we met on our first date  cos it just felt right :o (i think with online dating we'd been building up to it anyway)
