    Who do you think?

Have to wonder what they're spending £900 a month on if they have no bills.

Maybe you want to check the dates on what you're quoting.

Holy macaroni. I get why they had to give a choc orange now. Times are really hard when you can only afford to save 900 quid a month.

Did something radical change in the past 9 months that necessitated you putting your hands in your own pockets?

The BIL might end up very cheated if the original choc orange was actually a 2 for 1 offer in poundland. It might only actually be worth 50p.

Again, check the dates on that post.

We now have a mortgage, are shelling out £2410 on electrical rewire, £3670 on a damp proof course, £1000 on a new valley for the roof, £2000ish on whole house plaster and then obviously because we have a house we pay council tax, electricity, gas, water, etc. All those bills plus the normal stuff like food shopping, transport, etc.

We didn't actually buy their house in the end, we bought a house on the market. And yes, some money was gifted to us, but as I've said, I've been saving hard since I was 18, and my husband has too since he moved in with me.

I don't know why some of you are jumping on me about getting pregnant and not paying my way, because we do, and we work incredibly hard. My son wasn't planned - I was on the depo injection, which had failed. That's irrelevant to the conversation though.

Don't worry about it Fredula. :)

    Don't take it to heart.

    They're a brutal bunch on here. *

They'll skin you alive, so they will! :rotfl:

(FWIW, I don't think badly of you, and I dont expect many other people really do either. I can see you're doing your best.) :)

Disregarding what he gives you, and all the other circumstances I believe it was a bit mean, especially for a 30th birthday. It doesn't cost a lot to get something with a bit of thought.

Does he adore your child? You could have gotten him a nice personalized mug/mousepad/picture with their pictures and some nice words on for around a fiver via photobox or similar company. Just an example, I am sure he would have delighted with any cheap present that shows that some thought went into it.
