Holy macaroni. I get why they had to give a choc orange now. Times are really hard when you can only afford to save 900 quid a month.0 -

The BIL might end up very cheated if the original choc orange was actually a 2 for 1 offer in poundland. It might only actually be worth 50p.0 -

Again, check the dates on that post.
We now have a mortgage, are shelling out £2410 on electrical rewire, £3670 on a damp proof course, £1000 on a new valley for the roof, £2000ish on whole house plaster and then obviously because we have a house we pay council tax, electricity, gas, water, etc. All those bills plus the normal stuff like food shopping, transport, etc.0 -

Eh? :huh:We didn't actually buy their house in the end, we bought a house on the market. And yes, some money was gifted to us, but as I've said, I've been saving hard since I was 18, and my husband has too since he moved in with me.
I don't know why some of you are jumping on me about getting pregnant and not paying my way, because we do, and we work incredibly hard. My son wasn't planned - I was on the depo injection, which had failed. That's irrelevant to the conversation though.
Don't worry about it Fredula.
Don't take it to heart.
They're a brutal bunch on here. *
They'll skin you alive, so they will! :rotfl:
(FWIW, I don't think badly of you, and I dont expect many other people really do either. I can see you're doing your best.)

Disregarding what he gives you, and all the other circumstances I believe it was a bit mean, especially for a 30th birthday. It doesn't cost a lot to get something with a bit of thought.
Does he adore your child? You could have gotten him a nice personalized mug/mousepad/picture with their pictures and some nice words on for around a fiver via photobox or similar company. Just an example, I am sure he would have delighted with any cheap present that shows that some thought went into it.0
