  • Thanks :) We love the new house even more than the first one. It even has an Aga which I'm trying not to get too excited over in case it doesn't work out......but I've always wanted an Aga!

  • Also solicitors have a date of 16th October when the searches will be back so I don't expect to hear from them until then.

The only thing we can do in the next couple of weeks is get the valuation ok'd (fingers crossed) and the mortgage offer issued (fingers still crossed!). Then it's a case of pressuring the solicitors again to exchange asap as I want to be as far away from Christmas as possible!

  • Oh my gosh an aga ! I've always wanted one of those too ! my gran had one and I was fascinated with it when I was little, the closest I've got to having one was my range cooker in our old house, I loved that but would have loved an aga more, I'm very jealous :)

Well the wait continues house wise. I've been checking out the bridle paths near the new farm and they are stunningly beautiful and amazing. Not too many roads linking them which is just how I like it as I don't do roads!

Money wise everything is paid up to date but it's all just ticking over until we move and settle in as every penny counts - moving fees are ridiculous!

Once we're in, I'll be back on it!

Another lovely, fairly crisp morning here. The horses are still out overnight with their rugs on for the old girl. I'm not sure how long we'll be allowed turnout for but fingers crossed it's at least until we move. Little pony isn't out due to his laminitis, however he's having an hour a day in the paddock. If there's no frost due Saturday night, I may put him in the field and bring him in Sunday as there's less sugar in the grass overnight and the fields are bare now anyway.

I've taken some chicken out of the freezer so will put some potatoes and frozen mized veg with that tonight.

I think I will make an apple crumble for tomorrow night too as the apples are hanging on to the tree but not for long.

The two new additions (puppies) are well into our routine now and we're allowed to take them for walks so it's been lovely to get out and about with them and our older dog.

Over lunch I may have a little look for an Aga book to ask Santa for.....

Happy Friday! Day 2 of October!

Well it was a misty, foggy (what's the difference?) start to the day today. In fact, looking up out of the window as I type, it still is. In the last few days, it's been clearing by the afternoon but the mornings are cold and the afternoons warm.

I didn't look for an Aga book yesterday, so I might today and add it to my wish list.

Last night I used up the last of the sweet potatoes and put some frozen mixed veg with the chicken. Very nice it was too. Tonight though I think we will be buying a T£sco take away or such as I CBA to cook and will leave the crumble for the weekend.

I'm off to check the accounts. I'll be glad when all of the moving house bills are paid as I don't like having money in my accounts that isn't mine!

    Morning diary land.

Worryingly I have too much money. Sounds stupid right? Well it's unnerving. I'm not touching it. I'll leave it until we (hopefully) move and see what we have left. The good news is that I have 1k in savings and that is definitely mine :) I am keeping that safe so when we move in (hopefully, again) I have some pennies to help out with things. I will keep adding to it until we move but there may only be 1, maybe 2 more pay days until then.

I am out of the county next week, international travel and I am not looking forward to leaving everyone one bit. Even less for flying which I don't enjoy one bit either.

In other thoughts, hopefully by Friday, we should have heard re the house so if that's positive, that will give me something to focus on.

Budget wise, things are ticking over nicely and I'm beginning to think that saving a lump sum is the way forward rather than overpaying as I seem to have saved 1k fairly easily which, should I have saved it towards the CC, would have been a nice chunk off.

Tonight I need to get a few groceries and go for a nice ride out. We've been doing that a lot lately and there's nothing comes close to getting out on your horse.

Debt Free date without making overpayments will be March 2018. That's when my loans will be paid off (CC *should* have gone before then). So anything sooner than March 2018 will be a bonus.

I won't mention the family loan that's paying for moving fees just yet.

Yep totally agree with this, my ride on friday was great, sun shining and well behaved horse :D

Fingers crossed this house comes through ok. Re your debts you seems to be doing ok, get the house sorted and then you can come back on track, well done for your savings too :)

Thanks for dropping in :) Much appreciated.

Re the debts - I may decide to follow the agreed loan payments which are £661 every month up to and inc March 2018. I also pay the CC monthly apx £100 now. I was overpaying this CC when I could. Realistically and to be safe, I will try to overpay the CC by £50 a month (or save it which seems to be the preferred option). Combined with a bonus we normally (but not guaranteed) get in March I should be able to pay the balance on that by March 2018 too. I think it's finding a balance of paying it off but being able to live that I need to now discover. I definitely need to keep some savings as taking this leap in to the new lifestyle is going to be a scary and amazing at the same time and I wouldn't want to do it without a penny (spare) to my name.

Thanks for getting the brain working :)
