  • Happy Friday!

I've now sorted the freezer out and washed the drawers that are in there ready for the new people. There's still stuff to use up but it's dwindling down.

Out of the big pan drawers that we have, 2 are now packed and bits and pieces out of the other one. I'll continue with another one tonight which will include the items that are out on the tops that are nice to haves. I'll leave plates and glasses, mugs etc until the last week.

Photo frames and the few amount of ornaments we have can start going into boxes too over the weekend. We will leave the furniture in situ until after we've exchanged which should be a week today.

Money wise - I'll be shopping over the weekend for grocery top ups but will try to keep it to a minimum.

Yay! That's so exciting! Very pleased for you. Some days I forget how lucky we are to have our little but of country just for ourselves, especially when I get snowed under with mucking out, fences breaking and rain lol, but I love it and wouldn't change it for the world :). Won't be long now...... :)

  • Well fingers crossed it won't be but the farm we're buying have said they are going to need a long time before the will complete, double what our buyers want. Needless to say this week is going to be another tense one as we try to please all parties!

This weekend I don't think I actually achieved much! I was full of good intentions but not many came to fruition! Something to do with a night out and a few too many drinks. It's not very often we do that so I won't beat myself up.

This week I will be using the remainder of the freezer contents, a lot was used over the weekend and the fridge had a bit of a clean out too. The freezer is getting down to the bare minimum - a lot of things which just don't go together! I'm sure I will think of something!

Money wise everything is allocated this month and a few presents have been bought for Christmas. With everything so up in the air, it's hard to know what I have.

  • This happened to Mum and her other half, the buyers of their house wanted to move in 3 weeks before the new build they were moving to was ready. It was about this time of year and they were able to get a really, really good deal on a holiday cottage locally as it was out of season, so put all their stuff in storage and moved into the cottage until their house was ready. Worth thinking about if your buyers won't budge?
  • That's exactly what we were looking for last night however locally (withing communiting distance to work) there's not a demand for holiday cottages though I will keep looking. Hoping to hear today. My estate agent tried to contact my buyers yesterday but I've not heard anything from her so not sure if she managed to get through.

Fingers crossed we get to know their response today.

  • OK so we have a property secured for the interim period between selling our house and buying the next one. However until we have confirmation that all of the papers are through and that we can complete on the sale and exchange on the next place all on the same day, then it won't be happening. It's been and continues to be an emotional roller coaster. Until we move in to the new place, I struggle to believe it will happen at all!

Anyway, we're going to measure up and double check everything tomorrow. I don't really want to see the vendors after everything that's happened but I guess I need to put my big girl pants on.

  • Just finished reading your diary from start to finish! Not in one sitting I will add.

Wonderful and inspirational diary and I am so pleased that you are moving to your dream home in the near future.
