Well I am starting to sleep better so that is great as I need my sleep! We're back to having proper meals at tea time. Tonight is shepherd's pie or cottage pie - I can't remember what's what. Tomorrow we have a house guest and I will make a big lasagne for us all with salad and garlic bread. We don't know how long we have the guest for so tea for the rest of the week will depend on that but I have some veg in to use up, I might even make a soup.

I'm on top of the washing in the new place (temporary place) but I need to organise the clothes a bit better as I struggled to find a couple of things and as always, time is of the essence so I might do that tonight.

Pooch is really struggling with his arthritis these last couple of days. Hate to see dogs getting old. I will have to take him for the vets to check tomorrow maybe. He can't get in the car easily these days so I am not sure what I will do as he weighs 6 stone plus!

  • Crazy!!! Trying every trick in the book to stop littlest one from being silly. The fields are swamps so that's it for us now really. I wonder how I will feel when they are at home about turn out.

Depends how daft they are when they're turned out and how much space you've got to play with :) I can, technically, confine my two to the hardstanding area with the field shelters, but they absolutely hate it, so I just let the area outside it get poached each year. We were supposed to get the drainage in that area improved this summer, but bought the crofts instead :o Given the amount of struggling through swamp with a wheelbarrow I'm doing at the moment, I'm wondering why on earth anyone would want to give up a livery yard to have their horses at home :p;)

    Little money update:

New debt total is: £22359 as of today. This means I have paid off £16943. Gulp.

Another £2708 and I will be at the half way point.

At the beginning of this diary I was sure 2016 would be my last year in debt. That may or may not be the case now but either way I will enjoy every day regardless.

The 2 loans are being paid by direct debit monthly and the credit card is getting £100 to it monthly too.

Above was 3rd Nov. Today's 1st Dec, debt total is: £21744 but everything else is the same :D

  • Well we've made it to Friday which is a full week in the temporary house. It's gone nice and quickly so without wishing my life away, let it continue for 6 weeks until we move in to the new place!

I took pooch to the vets and he's on pain relief. The vet had the quailty of life discussion with me and pending how he takes to the new pain relief will guide me on how quickly I need to make this decision. I must say he seems a lot better already though he now has the runs which I'm assuming is down to the new meds.

Our house guest arrived a day later than we expected. So far all is ok and the plan is they will be with us less that a week (but watch this space).

I've started getting a couple of Christmas presents online which is a life saver when you're working, moving and have animals. No big crazy presents this year which will make a ncie change actaully. The house feels fairly Christmassy. When I finish work I will get it feeling and smelling even more so which I am looking forward to.

The weekend will be lots of walks with the dogs and bike rides with the kids, regardless of what the weather throws at us. I'm also going to buy a jigsw which we can all do as a family to fill in the time that we would normally have spent doing something related to our own home such as working in the garden or chilling in own rooms. It should be fun :)

  • Happy New week! Another weekend closer to the farm!

I won't lie, it's not easy at the moment and I'm feeling the stress as I don't have anywhere I can chill and relax. I am feeling run down and stressy which is not good as I am probably becoming horrible to live with. So I have decided to do a few things for myself to target the problem. Firstly I need to colour my hair again as it's neither here nor there at the moment. I'm going dark again (currently half blond, half home grown which is grey and brown). Tomorrow I am going to get my eyebrows done which is something I normally do myself and then nearer Christmas I'm in for a facial and nails. I'm also going to get a good back massage as my back's been hurting for months so I am determined to start fixing that. I think tonight I might do a bit of yoga or something as I've never done that and it will help me chill out.

In the temporary house I have managed to sort some clothes out for everyone and although most need ironing, we can now put our hands on them at least. Which reminds me, my iron is broke! I will pop and get a new one today maybe.

Being in work is making me feel better as I can organise that and remain in control there. Onwards!

  • How very true and a timely reminder - thank you.

Tonight I have a food delivery coming which will allow me to cook nice, filling, winter warming food for the rest of the week (and beyond I think). I am working a couple of hours in the evening and I don't leave the office until 5 so it doesn't leave much time for anything else today. That's fine though as we're steaming through the week.

I have found some relaxation info online and I am going to try that throughout the day when I get chance to try and stay on top of the stress as I am turning into a grumpy old witch! It's Christmas and I'm like a bear with a sore head. So as of this morning that's changing.

    Happy Tuesday everyone :)

    Middle of the week!

Found a fabulous present for DH - an automatic incubator for those first chicks that we will have on the farm :D I'm tempted to buy the fertilised eggs to get us started (we have chickens already but no boyo) however we can't risk them hatching (which they would) in the temporary house. It probably wouldn't go down well :) Excited about that.

I am also going to shop in a few charity shops when I am off. Random comment of the day.
