  • Almost there!

I won't be updating for a week or so after today as I shall be busy moving in to my dream home and I don't have internet up that way yet :D.

Fingers crossed everything goes well and I will be back with some money updates once we're settled in.

    Take care all.

  • HAPPY NEW HOME.

I'm really pleased your all settled in and hope the kids are enjoying the new place.

    Take care.x.
  • Yay fantastic!!!! Hope you are all settling in well. Have the ponies moved in yet?
  • Happy Friday!!!

Yes the ponies are home now. It's lovely though so true that you have even less time when they are home, than you did when they are on livery! So mu mornings now include getting up super early, skipping out and feeding before the usual routine. Fabulous!

Ah thank you - I truly couldn't be happier. I've just bought more seeds too for the start of the growing year :)

In some ways I'm very glad that you're starting out with it in the horrible half of the year, because summer is going to seem a doddle in comparison :p:p

Glad you've settled in so quickly :) Can't believe you beat me though!! We're looking at anything up to another 3 months before we get the keys.
  • It's a good point to make. The dark nights are my biggest pain at the moment. The days are pushing through though and I am noticing we seem to be snatching a few more minutes every few days to add to the longer light. It's after 5 now before it's very dark. Morning's don't bother me too much as I will be working in the dark for a good while yet.

OK so from the new £300 budget for groceries, I have £84.55 left to last until 25th Feb. The reason for this is I stocked the freezer up with £100 meat and stocked the pantry up with essentials that will last us through the month. I'm not sure if I will do that every month or how it will pan out, but that's this month anyway.

So £84.55 leaves me with £28 ish a week left. I go shopping at the end of the week for the coming week. It's DD's birthday at the w/e (9) so I will be making cakes, baking and preparing food for that. However that will come out of a different pot and not touch the grocery pot.

I need to plan what other food to put out, some cold items like quiche and fritata (home made) and a ham with chutneys, to snack on and then a curry and a roast (for sandwiches) for a bit of warmth. It's adult and kids attending.

Sweet tooth will be the birthday cake and some fruit for afterwards. I still haven't decided which cake to make....I think I need to be sensible and make an easy one but I really do fancy trying a horses head. Decisions!

Today's non work list is to menu plan and empty one of the remaining 2 boxes in my bedroom.
