How exciting that you are in your new home - I am following your blog!!!
I buy frozen sweetcorn and peas only.
I have got frozen cauli but that is usually to use as my quiche base. I find it cooks really quickly in a saucepan and if I don't remember I end up with a soggy mush.
I find that broccoli and cauli will last up to 3 weeks in the fridge.
Do you have a greengrocers nearby? I am doing monthly shops and with top ups at the greengrocers which is in the next village (DH went there today but we only needed a sack of potatoes, onions, carrots, lemons and apples).
Hiya
I don't know yet tbh as we aren't familiar with the area however there's one near ish to work which might be an option. I'll give it some thought, thanks!Debt - CCV £3792

Thanks penny and sugar too. I've put some on the order for the end of the month which I can get delivered for £1 and I am working on getting 2 weeks worth of food to see us through. How long can you make bananas last? We only even have a few days worth as I used to top up. I guess green ones should last 2 weeks if separate to everything else?Debt - CCV £3792

Morning diary land!
Well I have managed to move all but £950 to 0% for 20 months so I am pleased about that. I need to see what the interest on the £950 works out at when the statement is generated, with moving over part way through month and then I will forecast for that going forward.
Groceries came in at £35 ish so I will update my grocery total and see where I stand there too.Debt - CCV £3792

Happy Wednesday!
I am feeling very positive today.
I fancy a little challenge so I have £40 left in my purse. Normally I have no cash but for one reason and another I do. There's about £50 left in the grocery budget. Instead of using the debit card and taking the grocery budget from my account, I am going to use the £40 cash and not go over what I have left. Then the next big shop I do will be for delivery on 26th February. That I am hoping, will last me 2 weeks, taking in to account the tips you guys have posted re fresh/frozen veg.
I have a draft menu plan and will try to perfect it until the order is due and will also write up shopping lists for the next 2 weeks to keep each week £20 and under. One thing I won't be doing is scrimping on food. Food fuels us, we just need to be clever and organised.
The idea is to go to the shops as little as possible, if at all as I really do hate it!
The money's moved to the new card overnight, so I will also do a payment plan for that.

Change of plan. I'm not going to have time to get to Ald1 over the weekend, combined with the fact I hate going, I'm picking up a Tesc0 click and collect after getting the kids from school today. So obviously I can't use cash for that so I will swap a few things round.
Still working on the 2 week master plan.
Few days off next week as it's half term, through trying not to use all my holidays too early in the year!Debt - CCV £3792

That's why I have started March's list as if I try for sooner I won't be sorted in time. I think if I can get a few months worth of menu plans/shopping lists then I can just rotate. In theory! xxDebt - CCV £3792

Looking forward to a quiet weekend. First one since we arrived! We have family round tonight but then no major plans over weekend except one trip to a shop for DD to spend her birthday voucher so that may be towards closing time tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be quieter and it means we will have all day to get jobs done.
Happy weekend everyone.Debt - CCV £3792

Happy new week! A day late
So I have decided I am not going to set foot in to a clothes shop for me or the kids this year. This does not include school clothes and school shoes. The rest will be bought from ebay or online in general. I intend on getting as much as possible from ebay 2nd hand for a decent price and aim to sell a lot of our own stuff on there when I can muster up the enthusiasm.
Aside from that, the seeds are going in the pots and the debt is going down.
I am getting used to the new oven and am expanding my culinary skills outside of what I had in the old house. Some things are working, others are not but I am enjoying every minute of it.
So far the grocery budget is tight, but ok. I will need packed lunch items inc fruit and milk at the end of this week and then it's the 2 week trial.Debt - CCV £3792
