People being willfully slow at posting?

The ISSUE whichever way you look at it, is the deadline has NOT YET been exceeded, regardless of whether or not the item has been collected by dispatch. The issue - again - is that its been a week and the seller has neither dispatched NOR updated me on when they might.
There is little (if anything) you can do until the deadline has been exceeded.
You cannot ring to complain the item has not arrived before the deadline and its not likely to arrive on time, for the simple yet basic fact that just about everyone has said on here, the deadline has not been exceeded, ergo as it currently stands, the item is not yet late.
Sighing about it wont make it any better.
Someone did suggest the one logical thing you could do, which is to wait until it is delayed before posting a new thread where we can go through it with you. but your response to that post pretty much said it all to the answers you WANT to hear.
We cannot simply give you answers you WANT, because the answer is simple.....There is nothing you can do until the item is late.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Calls to our home phone get redirected to a mobile when the phone isn't answered. She could be anywhere.
You're just making this up as you go along now?
She said she had the item packed ready to go, TNT hadnt picked it up and she was going online to use chat to find out when they would.0 -

The ISSUE - as per the TITLE OF THE POST - was to do with people being very slow at posting.
I said it was frustration and that i was venting because it had been a week.
Are you saying that its reasonable to neither update the buyer on delays OR on when it might be shipped?0 -
I did answer this before for you.I know.
I dont want it early - i just would like to know when its going to be dispatched. As has been said repeatedly - the seller has had payment a week and it hasnt been dispatched, nor have they updated me on when it might be dispatched.
Do you think thats acceptable?
It really depends on the terms the seller has given me. They are not obligated to keep updating me, their only obligation is the item is to reach me by the deadline.
If for whatever reason I found the sellers terms were not acceptable, I would buy from someone else. If there is a given deadline, I would not care about the sellers issues with couriers, as thats not my problem, so long as the item arrives to me by that deadline.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

But the seller is not posting, they are waiting on TNT to collect, and the fact that the seller has given you a TNT tracking number suggests that they DID arrange collection in a timely manner.
It is just past the busiest time of the year with 3 bank holidays and 2 sundays. I would say come back on the 8th but the very people here who could help you may be a little reluctant to do so now.
You money is safe until June, the estimated delivery time has not passed by. I cannot believe this thread is already 4 pages long.0 -
I take it you are just willfully missing the point now?
Seller has had payment a week, hasnt dispatched, hasnt updated on when they might dispatch it. Seller doesnt seem remotely concerned or inclined to try to sort it. Finding it frustrating. Others have agreed.
Repeating yourself ad nauseam doesn't make it right or change anything. And it doesn't mean we don't notice when you try to wriggle out of lack of detail, or misleading or conflicting information.
The item has been despatched, as indicated by the issue of a tracking number. You assume it hasn't been picked up - you don't know that. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

She told me on wednesday night it hadnt been picked up by TNT. The tracking number is not showing up meaning it hasnt yet been picked up.
She was to update me with when it was going to be picked up and hasnt.
Leaving it at that.
Clearly there are one or two who just want an argument on the internet.
Will update with the outcome no matter when that happens to be.0 -

How do you think she got the TNT tracking?
Would it not cross your mind that it was booked within her dispatch times?
There is no argument here, read the posts, it's just you expecting a parcel 4 days before the latest estimated due date.
Like I said, I've subscribed. You might actually need help later next week.0 -
Cor blimey this thread is making me dizzy with all the circular arguments!
OP - I understand that it can be frustrating to wait for an item, regardless of value.
However, I think you've worked yourself up about this a bit too much.
As we all know (and a few have mentioned here), things tend to be a bit slower during the holiday season. You've bought off a private seller, not a business. So they're not necessarily going to be poised by the laptop, ready to send something as soon as they make a sale.
They might be out and about seeing family, and if they have indeed had internet issues, then this may explain a delayed response.
As you mention that you're not in a hurry for the item, and you say you got a good deal, so take the advice on here and wait until early next week, then maybe chase the seller again.
As others suggest, too much pestering may make the seller less keen on sending. Try to keep the messages polite, and then afterwards you can make a decision about how to reflect your experience in feedback.
Keep calm, and fingers crossed you get your item fairly soon

Have you considered that she may have realised that she has under-priced the item and has no intentions of sending at all?
You mentioned that it was £50.00 less than the usual price for the item.0
