You mentioned that it was £50.00 less than the usual price for the item.
If that was the case it would be more logical for the seller to have either cancelled the sale or made up some daft comment about it being lost or broken. Spreading it out like this is not the behavior of a reluctant seller, they would gain nothing by these actions.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. OP - I understand that it can be frustrating to wait for an item, regardless of value.
However, I think you've worked yourself up about this a bit too much.
As we all know (and a few have mentioned here), things tend to be a bit slower during the holiday season. You've bought off a private seller, not a business. So they're not necessarily going to be poised by the laptop, ready to send something as soon as they make a sale.
They might be out and about seeing family, and if they have indeed had internet issues, then this may explain a delayed response.
As you mention that you're not in a hurry for the item, and you say you got a good deal, so take the advice on here and wait until early next week, then maybe chase the seller again.
As others suggest, too much pestering may make the seller less keen on sending. Try to keep the messages polite, and then afterwards you can make a decision about how to reflect your experience in feedback.
Keep calm, and fingers crossed you get your item fairly soon
Cheers, yes, i've kept the messages polite. I'll just have to sit back and wait now. Was merely venting that someone hasnt posted it within a week, which as you say becomes frustrating.

Indeed. I genuinely think shes just waiting on it to be picked up, but the lack of communication and lack of any real sense of urgency over the whole thing in terms of "i said i'd have this posted in two days so i'll get on to these people and push them hard to pick it up and let you know when" makes for a frustrating buying experience.
Oh well, will just have to see what this week brings.

WE know what the buyer paid and I can't see any reason at all for wanting to know what the seller actually paid for it, unless I am missing something?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You're missing something. It refers to the fact that the OP has seen fit to tell us he paid £200 in just about every reply they made.0 -

I still don't see the relevance.
OP is entitled to feel concerned about a large sum of money paid for an item- it makes no difference though to the actual ebay process or to the original cost of the item.
It also seems unlikely that any buyer could know what a seller paid for an item- and if we did know how exactly would that change the advice that has been given?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. where exactly was the item being posted from? as up in scotland the bank holiday is the 1st and 2nd january.I'm sure the OP said somewhere the seller lives 300 miles and across a sea from him,so there might be a possibility they have the same bank holidays as scotland0
