No idea why people are defending the seller, taking a week to dispatch and then not bothering to communicate is a big no no in the world of commerce. Yes a seller may block the buyer, but as a buyer I also would choose not to buy from you again and consider raising an ebay claim.

The 2 PS3 games I put up for sale, I deliberately waited until after boxing day to put up, I also put 3 day dispatch as I assumed the courier would take at least 24 hours to pick up from my address, I was right as hermes picked up the day after I ordered the pickup. (I ordered pickup same day I got paid). As I know how annoying it is to wait for stuff, I would never not prepare dispatch same day unless I had a very good reason, and if I did delay I would immediately inform the seller and offer them a cancellation with full refund.

Op, whilst I completely understand why you're annoyed that there has been a lack of communication, I do think you have jumped the gun a little bit. As many people have pointed out, the estimated delivery date is exactly that - an estimate. What's more, there's a chance that the seller decides to upgrade your delivery for free seeing as there has been a delay (which is, as far as I can tell, not really her fault) so it could get delivered on time.

I would be a bit miffed that I've not been updated on whether it's with the courier yet or not, but I think it was a bit unfair of you to ring her etc over the holidays seeing as she's a private seller. You didn't give her much time to reply to your messages either.

I think there's been fault on both sides and honestly all this bickering is unnecessary.

Again, the OP is not worried about about the estimate date, they have clearly said they would be happy with a revised time frame. The issue is about dispatch and lack of communication. Christmas was over a long time ago, and they haven't updated the OP.
It matters not what his gripe. The item isn't overdue. How do you know the buyer hasn't made much effort to chase the carrier?

The fact is, the carrier was booked. If it failed, there's not much can be done between Christmas and NY.

I've no doubt it will be overdue. But that is a bridge to be crossed when it happens, not days before.

Well it does matter, your claiming the OP issue is about the estimate. They have a issue about the dispatch......The item hasn't been dispatched!

I see from the above that English is not your strong point, I am happy to accept that is why you do not understand the meaning of 'despatch'. I tried to explain this in my last post but apologise for not being clear enough. Despatch is a process consisting of several steps. The seller has completed their steps (packing, choosing a carrier, entering details into a system, paying the carriage charge, producing documentation, labelling the package, informing the buyer of the Tracking number.)
The next steps are done by the carrier and are out of the seller's control. We've had no update for some days now so do not know whether the carrier has picked up the package or not. Until we do, further discussion is pointless and we may just as well be patient until the due delivery date, as the OP appears now to be.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Ah the old grammar police....How imaginative :T I see you had fun mocking the OP in previous posts. I thought this is a forum to help people, or it just a place to bully people who 'don't fit in'???

Well to 'dispatch', surely it has to be because it's going to be 'sent'. The item as far as we know, hasn't been 'sent'.
The item is still in the sellers house. As far as we have been told, the OP has been online and hasn't updated us for some reason. The OP was given two working days for 'dispatch' that never happened, the seller made a request for it to be collected. But it has not been collected. So it has not been dispatched.

    Marking an item as dispatched

If you posted an item to a buyer and My eBay is still showing it needs to be sent, you can manually mark the item as dispatched for your own records. Marking your item as dispatched tells the buyer that the item has been sent.

I think its amusing that you consider the item "dispatched" even though its still sitting in the sellers house, just so you dont have to back down from your stance and the heat you're getting.

    Sad really.

Folks, firstly, thanks to all those who have supported me on this, and can see my point of view on it.

According to the tracking number it looks like the item has now been picked up by the carrier as of late this afternoon.

I'll keep an eye on the progress of it, but at least its on its way - even if it is some ten days after i bought it and with no updates at all from the seller.

I would guess early next week now, though i can track progress to me now which is good - the issue for me was the lack of updates from the seller and the seeming lack of urgency.

As i said originally, my issue was with lack of dispatch, not lack of delivery.

If the seller wanted to take the full 24th Dec -> 5th Jan off and was not prepared to make contact or be contacted with someone who had given her a fair amount of money, then she should have held off in listing the item until such times as she could respond within a reasonable timeframe and deal with any delays should they happen.

I've seen people put in listings "i am unavailable until XXth of Month therefore i cannot guarantee dispatch or responses until after that date".

Just not bothering isnt really good enough frankly.

:T About time, quite ridiculous how long you have had to wait OP.

As you said, it has now been 'dispatched' as the carrier has now picked it up. I hope you enjoy the item :D

Simply ignoring the explanation in my previous post shows your ignorance and inability to learn anything new. If there is something you don't understand about processes, ask away. If you want to continue with an incomplete understanding of 'despatch' that's fine too. But I'd suggest you don't seek a career in logistics and shipping any time soon.

You need to give ebay a ring and explain it to them then

    Marking an item as dispatched

If you posted an item to a buyer and My eBay is still showing it needs to be sent, you can manually mark the item as dispatched for your own records. Marking your item as dispatched tells the buyer that the item has been sent.
