While £200 is a lot for you; is it for her?

How on earth do you know whether TNT are messing her about? (If you hadn't noticed, the pre/post christmas period is rather busy parcel wise...)

You emailed and phoned on New Year's Eve? (Which is treated as a quasi-bank holiday by many?)

If you wanted it so quickly, perhaps you should have contacted the seller in advance of BIN/£50 cheaper than most to confirm when they would be able to dispatch/discuss whether you could pay more for faster delivery?

£200 is not to be sniffed at in anybodys books.

My frustration is that the seller hasnt bothered updating me on when it might be dispatched.

As has been said already by many, thats fairly crap.

Seller quotes a 2 day despatch, item is not despatched.

Seller does not communicate enough with buyer.

    That's 2 possible defects

Doesn't matter if the buyer is impatient, or what time of the year it is, or even if the seller is sat in a cave in Outer Mongolia on a mystical retreat. If you chose to sell on ebay, you don't give yourself defects...

Seller can only get one defect from this transaction. If you need help with counting defects just ask. ;)

I would take one for not sending it. :T

He then actually says "the original timeframe is fine"......hilarious. The original timeframe hasn't even arrived yet, let alone even expired.

    You've mentioned the £200 again.

    Yes. And?

I've sold items on ebay from 99p to several hundred and i treat everyone with the same respect - i keep them informed of any delays and i try to get it off to them inside two working days.

It is frustrating when you buy a significantly priced item and the seller just doesnt seem to care - clearly they have their money, so why should they?

I said i really really wanted the item, not that i really really wanted it quickly. Big difference.

Its not impatience its frustration in not being told by the seller when it might be dispatched. Its like "oh well". Not good enough TBH.

So, you don't need it quickly? It's not overdue? What's the issue?

Wanting it before the due date is impatient, you might not think so......
  • I know I would not be sending it to you now.....:p

The seller will only get one defect....it's one time the defect system is great.

Awesome you are advocating giving yourself a defect and a non performing seller strike...

Don't think I would ever ask your advice... :rotfl::rotfl:

2 possible defects means the buyer has two legitimate ways to ding the seller..

Most people will know you can only get 1 defect per transaction,

Defects are given by eBay, not by the seller. If you need help, just ask.

She is using TNT so it'll take a week to get to me, so its going to exceed the delivery date - bearing in mind it hasnt even been picked up yet.

Do you think its acceptable not to post for a full week after an item has been paid for, particularly one at £200 and when the buyer has asked for info about posting?

Personally, i post next working day, or second at latest.
It would depend on the deadline they have given for delivery. What you personally would do is entirety irrelevant to what anyone else would personally do. some stick to their deadlines like glue, some may set a deadline in order to ensure the item is delivered on time or possibly even earlier.

As it is, your item has a scheduled delivery date, and at the moment, it has not exceeded the deadline, therefore no rules have yet been broken by the seller, your impatience for an earlier delivery and assumption that the seller should do what you personally would do, will not wash with the terms of the sale.

    You do need help.

A seller can only get one defect for this transaction.

Even if the buyer opens an INR, then a SNAD, leaves negative feedback and four low stars. It's only 1 defect.

eBay doesn't deal in Dings, just defects and it's only 1 whatever way you look at it.

    Hope that helps :D

I cannot see where you tell us the seller said their 'internet is down', only that they supplied you with a TNT tracking number, which suggests they bought the shipping in a timely manner. How do you know they are still not having internet problems?

You have replied to mgdavid that the timeframe was fine but here you are, moaning BEFORE the timeframe.

Oh, I think you have mentioned the £200 again.
