Hi Willowpop, yes I think we have been spreading germs on this thread, yuk!! Hope you feel better soon.. Dont do too much and keep warm :) I read that you have an unhoovered cat.. me too!! She wont stand still lol.

Oh I am feeling more depressed now, just done a car insurance quote and its gone up by around £300, even though I have a old banger, 12 yrs no claims, been driving for about 20 years and never had a crash (thank goodness) :(

I have 4 unhoovered felines! none of them will let me near them with the hoover! :rotfl:

How very annoying about the car insurance….guessing you've done the usual comparison sites and then the few that aren't on the comparison sites (direct line and a couple of others)?

Ah that's rubbish. Wonder why that's gone up like that? I can understand a renewal quote being high (they always are) but someone somewhere should have a decent price for you.
Hope you find one at a reasonable cost.

  • Hi everyone. May I please join? My house is looking relatively tidy (ish). I have been on a cleaning mission these past couple of mornings before taking DD to school and myself off to work. Got a pile of clothes (washed) just need to put them in DD's wardrobe. Got a bit of clutter at the bottom of the stairs that could do with sorting tomorrow before I go to the dreaded dentist. Got a carrier bag full of DD's winter hats that she has long outgrown so will either give them to a family member or charity shop them. Done all the washing of the pots, just a small pile of washing, the cooker top needs a quick spray and wipe, living room is fairly tidy. Got the Monster In Law coming tomorrow so gotta get it ship shape so she doesn't complain... she nags about anything and everything .

    Hi All,

Like everyone else, I have had a cold a cough which I caught from my son.

Anyway my tidying/ decluttering/ nesting is continuing.

Yesterday, I sorted out our airing cupboard and I managed to get rid of a load of towels to my son's pre school. I also put a few old sheets and hand towels in an old pillowcase that we will use when we do painting at home to protect my floors!!

I am going to start on a few drawers this week.

I hope everyone starts to feel a bit better.

  • Morning everyone, and hello to our newbie missflirtuk.:T

Hope everyone is on the mend.. I am almost back to my normal self.. still a misery guts though, even more so with the car insurance, but I have plucked up the courage to ask on the forum.. Thats quite scary because I have seen people get eaten alive by asking a question lol.. Wish me luck :)

Well, a little bit of snow and chilly weather, so I have had to turn the heating up a tad, so if I get some work done, I wont feel the cold so much... Here's my list:

    Clean bathroom
Sort out the pan cupboard in the kitchen
    Hoover the whole house
Prepare a salad for lunch and tea
    Sort out the airing cupboard...

    So here goes..

    Have a productive day messies :) x

  • Hi Messies!
I must be the odd one out as no lurgy in our house recently! I have merely been Uncomfortably Squished (mammogram this morning, and my annual follow-up appt after breast cancer last year. Worth getting squished for the reassurance though, shouldn`t grumble...

I was a bit dismayed to wake up to a snowy scene this morning, but it`s disappearing fast and just cold & mucky here now. NOT a good day for mopping floors!! We`re re-filling the birdfeeders twice a day lately, as they are nearly empty by mid afternoon. (OH does that. Of course, he puts on wellies for the task, and brings them into the kitchen to take off.)

I`ve got one WM load hung around the house and another load just about to finish - while the heating is on it`s a pity not making the most of it to dry stuff indoors. I`ve defrosted some YS sliced beef `trimmings`, and going to start making a curry to throw it in, based on savoy cabbage outer leaves and a sweet potato! (I forget who asked about my curry the other day, but I also have to avoid fried onions and tomatoes as they upset OH`s tum. Otherwise, I pretty much throw in anything that needs using or seems like a good idea, and got away with that method so far! I keep a tight lid on the pan so it doesn`t dry as much, but sometimes add a bit of stock, coconut milk, or even just water.)

Have a nice evening all. x
  • Done absolutely zero housework today . The MIL came and when she was in the living room she said ''it looks nice in here'' :j. So my cleaning frenzy these past few days must have helped. Had 2 injections in both sides of my mouth so feeling a bit sorry for myself. Think a bath and an early night is in order and I'll do the housework tomorrow after school pick up and work.
