  • Hi Messies!

Alec E, we`ve had a couple of brief snow flurries, but a lovely sunny week too. It does help lift the spirits, doesn`t it?

Well, I`ve had my 2 weeks off - overall it doesn`t feel like I`ve achieved much... I`ve kept on top of the basics, used some stuff from the freezers, and done a bit of de-cluttering, but nothing major really.
I`ve enjoyed what I have done, but not really slogged at it.
I have probably just wasted a lot of time, but I have rested too, and played with the dog, and experimented in the kitchen.

There`s a lot of stuff on the forum about not keeping items that don`t `bring joy`, and that is well worth thinking about but there are some household tasks that bring me joy and some that don`t, and I think I have concentrated on the former! (Just as well I enjoy washing up then!!)

DGD is in residence this weekend, and I`m back at work (late shift) on Monday, so I don`t foresee any major cleaning binges but I refuse to feel bad about that.

Have a nice weekend all. x

    Debt-free and Proud!
    I'm baaaaack!
Busy week at work so have done nothing more than the bare minimum of laudnry and hoovering. Trying to motivate myself today, and saw on another thread about folding carrier bags into samosa shapes. I can't entirely relinquish my stash of carrier bags, as I always need one for work or for my DD for school etc…so samosa-ing them seems like a good compromise! (And I can do it sitting down!!):T:rotfl:
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!
  • Hi Messies!

Willowpop, years ago I used to have a stash of carrier bags...then the Welsh Assembly (I live in Wales) banned free carrier bags, and the stash dwindled. I bought some fantastic six-pack shopping bags at Asda (called Footprint bags) and there`s a pouch with 6 pockets, each containing a rolled up folded shopping bag. They wash well, still go back in the same folds easily, and are really strong. I have 2 sets, and they`ve been on the go for about 5 years. So the habit of folding and rolling them is well ingrained now - I just need to get into tidier habits folding other carp!!
(I also have some Sainsbobs yellow shopping bags mostly used for keeping throws and bedding tidy on open shelf unit, because I like the colour)

Back into `work-mode` again, 2 days in and off today, so spent the morning catching up with basics/ untrashing kitchen...
to be honest, it`s nice to get back to what I call `normality` (!?) again, I just wish the menfolk (especially DS)would make a little more effort.
Hope everyone`s having a productive week so far. x
