Don't feel bad Mrs mc, sometimes life gets in the way. I had big intentions this week while other half was away to do a lot of sorting. However I didn't feel too good and ended up just doing a bit of housework to keep on top of things. I feel better now so I spent a useful half hour tonight doing my clothes drawers. Made me feel I had made a start.

Sometimes sorting out a drawer helps me get motivated too.

Tomorrow and on Monday we have decided to put up all the clocks and pictures that hasn't been hung on the walls since we moved in a year ago. There is also a cupboard that requires doors which are in its original packaging since we bought them when we moved:eek: This time we are going to do it!!!

  • Right then Messies, it's a new week and I'm sure we're all raring to go (erm.......well..... trying).

My plan for today goes something like this.......
    - Chuck another load of washing on and hopefully get it dry.
    - Have a rake through the dumping ground formerly known as the conservatory, clear the floor and box up all the husbands computery junk.
    - Rescue the buggy and see how much of it can be taken apart and washed.
    - Hoover bedroom, bathroom and landing.
    - Clean the bathroom and declutter some old toiletries.
    - List a few bits on local selling site.
    - Whatever else I can find the energy for, had a bit of a bad night and been wide awake since just after 5am.

Hope everyone else has a productive day!!
  • Hi Messies!

I hope everyone`s plans for the day worked out well. As JIL so rightly says, sometimes life gets in the way!

That certainly sums up my weekend - Eldest DGD (15) was here all weekend, which was lovely, but she has the untidy gene from my DS so today was just a `back to normal` effort, finding stuff in random places/putting stuff back where it goes sort of day.
Plus a trash trawl as it was bins day.
I`ve also done a bit more freezer tetris, and cooking ahead for tomorrow, as tonight`s meal is salmon with eggs baked in creamy spinach (frozen), so also slow-cooking a pork shank in carrots/celery & ginger.
I`ve got an early shift tomorrow so if I have any energy left after that there won`t be much cooking so hopefully can get a bit of de-cluttering done upstairs.

    Have a nice evening all.x

    Hi all

Literally not a single thing has been done at Fru Towers. I had flu after Christmas and was very ill for a week and am now beginning week 3 of this horrible virus.

I hope that, once I feel better, my motivation will be as high as it is now, whilst I am unable to do it!
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Curtain pole installed in the living room
    Paint curtain pole
Window quilts for landing window & french door
Add shrink film to the kitchen door & insulate
    Insulate front door
Bubble wrap windows & french door
    Wash front door curtain
    Blind for the bathroom
Find wrist warmers & the wool socks!
    Wash heated throws
    Wash duvet & wool blankets
Buy vest tops to go under clothes and PJs
Buy nets for bathroom and kitchen
Buy or make blind for kitchen

Oh no, hope you feel better soon. I've had a similar sounding horrible bug since the beginning of December, ended up in A and E on NYD as 111 thought at my late stage of pregnancy I could have a blood clot as I was coughing so much! Turned out to be a chest infection needing antibiotics, feeling a lot better now but can't seem to shake off the sore throat and night cough.
Utterly grim and I really feel for you. I was getting more and more stressed by the state of the house as well with a baby on the way, but just didnt have the energy to do very much about it.
Baby steps, just a bit at a time......

I was ill a few weeks ago too, it's horrible, I'm still coughing but thankfully that's the only thing now. Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

I didn't do much yesterday, but things look fairly good. I washed the floors and the stairs so everywhere smells really fresh. It's still really dark here today so I'm not exactly motivated to get up and go! So I'm catching up with some emails I need to send and things like that. I'm at the charity shop this afternoon, so I'll get a chance to do some cleaning there.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Hi messies

Sorry I havent been around, flu and depression are the pits :( I am trying to muster the energy to keep vertical at the mo!

I will read your updates and I know I will get some motivation from you all :) So, without further ado..

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi everyone!
I think everyone on here has the lurgy! I was off work last week with it and have a silly lingering cough now and am still a bit bunged up. Very dull.
I'm trying to take it a bit easy, but determined to do a little each day… finally tidied my bedside cabinet out yesterday. A little job, but there was SO much rubbish!
Another thing off the to do list though.
Hoovering and lounge tidying today I think.
Have resolved to hoover more in 2015 as hubby is asthmatic and the non hoovered cat hair really bothers him. I'm trying for alternate days this year with a quick whizz round with a floor cloth moppy thing on the days I don't get the hoover out. Very dull, but necessary and he is noticing a difference already. :T
Now I just wish I could get warm…3 layers on and still chilly…10mins under a blanket on the sofa with a cuppa is called for I think. :o
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!
  • Hi Willowpop, yes I think we have been spreading germs on this thread, yuk!! Hope you feel better soon.. Dont do too much and keep warm :) I read that you have an unhoovered cat.. me too!! She wont stand still lol.

Oh I am feeling more depressed now, just done a car insurance quote and its gone up by around £300, even though I have a old banger, 12 yrs no claims, been driving for about 20 years and never had a crash (thank goodness) :(
