Well I think the nesting instinct has firmly set in after I cleaned the top of my freezer last night (why???). Seemed like a good idea at the time and was surprisingly not as dusty as I was expecting.
Have got a load of washing just finishing in the machine, hopefully get that out on the line as its quite breezy to say the least!
Kitchen and lounge need a general tidy round.
Still wading through the clothes mountain, determined to get to the bottom of the laundry basket and get it all put away.
That'll do for this morning, getting to the stage where I need a nap during the day so hopefully I'll feel recharged this afternoon and do some more.0 -

Think she's after something :rotfl:. I don't feel too bad, felt awful at work, really drowsy and the tooth was still nagging today. But hopefully another nights sleep I should be good. I really didn't want to get up this morning xFeb NSD's 2/10 under my belt.
Feb Grocery Challenge0 -
Right after a lazy morning dozing on the sofa (had a very bad night coughing and being uncomfortable) I'm ready to make a start.
- Sooooo close to the bottom of the laundry so would be nice to get that done and dusted today, the weather isn't looking too friendly for getting stuff dry but we have a tumbler which I don't mind using in the short term to get on top of things.
- Finish decluttering the cupboard in the lounge. Took myself by surprise doing this yesterday but got 2 carrier bags of rubbish out just from looking for something. Felt really pleased with myself.
- Empty the drawers of junk in the conservatory ready for it to go upstairs into the step kids room.
- Take parcel to the PO.
- Pack my hospital bag which I meant to do last week but forgot about...
- Go over to parents house to fix something on their computer.
That'll do for the time being. Slowly getting there but quickly running out of time.0 -
End of the week and rather pleased with myself.
Kitchen is done…I did an area a day and it was much more managable.
Cupboard in the fishtank cabinet is cleared, and the tank is listed for sale.
Hallway table/unit thingy is done (did that this afternoon)..all tidied and junk binned…as well as a bag full of instruction manuals for stuff we don't have anymore.
3 bags dropped off at the charity shop, and floors all swept again, keeping up my 'do the floors daily' resolution of the new year to help hubby's asthma.
Aaaaaand ready for the weekend!!! :TPAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
Ooh, please can I join?
I'm a bit messy by nature at the best of times, have a dog (but no kids) and am working full time and studying with the Open University so never seem to have a free minute!
I keep the house fairly 'tidy' and usually keep on top of the kitchen (oven leaves a lot to be desired though), but everything else gets left until it's so bad I can't bear it any more! I can't invite mum round, I think she would die if she saw my skirting boards!
Under stairs cupboard is currently a hell-hole of random stuff - it's where everything gets thrown if I have anyone coming round. Shocking!
Even with my legit excuses, I have many many non legit ones, and spend too much time of my spare time on my bum not bothering with it. Instead of a 6 monthly killer week of blitzing everything, I really need to come up with some weekly rota to keep on top of everything.
Hopefully lurking this thread will get me motivated to get on with it, and keep up with it (but I'm not holding my hopes up too high!)0 -
After a very successful last weekend we finally have some clocks and pictures hanging on the wall. And the cupboard actually has sliding doors with mirrors. It has taken us more than 12 months to get these done. Not hoping to do much this weekend but don't want to lose the momentum and slack.SPC 08 - #452 - £415

We're going to have a really big push to get things done this weekend.
Probably too much to list individual jobs here but basically get the whole upstairs (except for stepkids room) straightened out, clothes away, hoovered, dusted etc.
Sort through the toys in the living room once littly has gone to bed tonight.
Rescue all the junk lurking behind and underneath the sofa.
More auction/selling site stuff to list, bag of stuff to charity shop at some point.
Whatever else we can mange with a 4 year old "helping" and me being 36 weeks pregnant.
MIL coming to stay in Thursday for a few days to help me sort out all the baby clothes that I have in vacuum bags stashed away and we'll have a rake through stepkids room and sort out whastever can go from in there too.
Determined to have a really productive weekend and actually have a really good feeling about it.
Good luck to everyone un-messying this weekend and have a nice relax to those taking a break from it!!0 -
Aha! Found you all! Thanks for starting a new thread Emm, it was definitely time! I'm so glad we're back.
Well, messy status here is about normal, with a bit of extra mess in the form of some mud that keeps getting trodden into the house from where I park my car (on my front "garden").
Invested in some bags of limestone chips and got that sorted this morning, but completely knackered now so housework can go whistle!!
Lots of stuff needs washing, floors need doing, blah blah. Curtains need washing, windows are a disgrace (can't actually remember last time I washed the kitchen window!!), but at least loo, bathroom and kitchen surfaces are hygienic.
I've also joined the slimming world thread as I'm now seriously reducing my size. Finding it easy enough to be in control at work, but harder at weekends. Still, if I can keep it up the weight will come off slowly.
I do find I have more energy when I'm losing weight, so hopefully I'll have a go at some housework over the next few weeks too.
Right, off to throw some stuff in the washing machine... happy new year to all messies, and all the best for the coming year to you all!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
