:T Hi Emm
Bless ya heart for your ward work.. Are you a nurse?
Yes, we all need a shove, or as I read it a shovel!!
I have tidied the clothes AND made a little start on my dressing table drawers.. There is loads of make-up and although I may use it one day, I have taken the bold step of throwing it out. I know it only has a certain shelf life but.. well, you know me, its difficult to throw things....
Hi Baby Angel (cute name) I suppose you could try ebaying your things, although I am not up on using that, I find the paypal thingy has stumped me.. Or jsut be ruthless and donate, is there a nursery school or what about Womens Aid, they are always happy to receive clothes, toys, books oh and any household items

Long time lurker checking in so I actually feel I have to join in, rather than just reading about everyone else's success.
Yayyy another lurker coming out of the shadows! :j
I am so cross with myself today; I went to bed at a reasonable hour, woke coughing my head off in the middle of the night and had the alarm set for 8am. I have obviously pressed the snooze button until even the alarm thought I was a lost cause and gave up trying to wake me. I slept in until 11!! I have lost half my day and then I have had chit chats with friends on the phone, watched the drama unfold on sky newsand had a healthy breakfast/lunch of salad and chilli.. So, I am going to chunk myself an hour to sort out the clothes pile at the end of my bed.. This is a job I leave until its unbearable, so I'll pounce on it now while I am motivated with your progress
As mum would say… 'you must have needed the sleep'.
How's the clothes pile? I have a pile ready to be tackled tomorrow.:oBaby_Angel wrote: »What do you do with new stuff, unused gifts you got or decorations you've collected over the years? Todays plan:
- Wait for painkillers to kick in (have SPD so have constant nagging pain at the front of my pelvis) whilst taking my mind off it with some rubbish tv.
- 2 x washing loads.
- Ring Tax Credits (this may take some time as they've totally messed up again).
- Sort out childcare vouchers forms (need to find them from the husband's pre-xmas "tidying" first).
- Move shoe rack into kitchen and sort out the growing pile of shoes in the hallway.
- General tidy of lounge and bedrrom.
- Strip beds.
That'll do for now......0 -
Hope them pain killer kick in fast for you!
My plan today...get home from work (in progress)
Swap cook books and baking trays around so they are neater and on more sensible shelves.
Put clean laundry mountain away.
And I think that's about it.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

Good evening Messies!
Terry, yes I`m a staff nurse, and yes, sometimes a shovel here is more appropriate!
MrsM, my DD suffered with SPD on her last 2 babies and they gave her a support thing to wear but she said that was even more uncomfortable!
Well, not a lot of progress here - at least not that shows. I`ve done a lot of freezer tetris, and made a `freezer surprise curry`- remnants of turkey crown, a stray chicken breast, and a frozen leftover butter chicken thigh. I`ve added a bit of frozen spinach, some cooked sweet potato and remains of frozen peas, and madras paste.
"Curry" is such a useful word! OH & DS never inquire beyond it.
I`ve got a long day shift tomorrow, then 2 off and another long day Friday, so any further de-messifying will have to fit around that.
Have a nice evening all.x0 -
That curry sounds lovely Emm. .. do you add liquid as well? Have never made a curry using a paste before, but have to make most things from scratch at the mo as I can't have white onions and they are in EVERYTHING! If I can find a paste with no onion powder I could have curry again without being faced with a great big list of spices and ingredients!!PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.

Ok.......
Not had much sleep last night so going to keep the list short today.
- Nip to Aldi to pick up bits I couldn't get the other day and pick up Bounty freebies.
- Put all the stockpiled nappies and wipes into the new changing unit and vacuum bag the blankets currently taking up the space.
- Catch up on a bit of sleep.
- Empty whats left of son's wardrobe and sort out what doesn't fit any more.
- See what motivation is left for doing other bits and bobs!0 -
Well, this is what I achieved, 3 carrier bags full of junk from one bureau! Where did it all come from??? Still have a couple of bits that might come in handy
Will go back to this over the months.
A few other things have come to mind, duvets.. There are clean and in good condition, but only the cheap ones from supermarkets so no use giving to anyone.. Shall I stuff them in a bin liner and put in the loft, or just throw them??
Another pain in the rear I have (do) is to save random things like pictures/quotes I see on the net, all over the computer, so that is also on the list for a tidy-up..
I have so many junk drawers, I am a bit overwhelmedBut I think coming here to talk about it is helping.

Emm, it was my birthday yesterday. My life has now begun!
Now that's all over and done with our new year can start properly without the tyranny of the birthday celebrations hanging over us (other than leftover cake). The downstairs rooms, of which there are only two, are in total disarray as we've decided to move the furniture around. DH is currently busy with wires, I'm staying out of the way.
There's another bag being filled with donations for the charity shop, I'm rejiggling the bookcases and generally switching everything around, reframing some prints and finding homes for new things.
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Well EPIC fail so far today. Caught up on a bit more sleep than I intended and fell asleep on the sofa for almost 2 hours. Feel awful since, ache pretty much everywhere and have zero motivation to do much else. Have vacuum bagged the blankets and sorted out all the shoes under my bed. Having a coffee to try perk me up a bit then will take the nappy/wipe stockpile upstairs and have a quick bash at son's wardrobe.
Think part of the problem is that you often make more mess to start with when having a big sort out and I find this VERY disheartening and my energy levels are rubbish enough without things suddenly feeling like a much bigger task.0
