ive been with sky broadband nearly 12 months with the promise of it been free eventually. im paying at the moment £17.99 a month how can i find out if the free b/band is in my area yet as im sure i can get cheaper if its not going to be soon.0

Free Sky broadband is only available where your exchange has had Sky/Easynet equipment installed. A number of people have got the Sky Connect service for £5/month where the exchange is due to be LLU'd (Local Loop Unbundling) within 6 months.
I would give Sky a ring and see if you can get your fee reduced.
To find out whether you exchange has been unbundled put your telephone number into the search facility of Samknows http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php
or
http://www.skyuser.co.uk/tools/exchangechecker.phpThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
hi thanks for that ive tried what you told me and it says that ive been unbundled so i will give sky a ring and get back to you0

I'm doing the same this week. The guy at sky told me to be put through to the cancellation line and ask them about offers. He said they should be able to waive the connection fee of 30 squids0

I've had nothing but trouble with sky boradband since I joined. Took over 2 weeks to sort out a problem on the line, I made 3 calls to sky and ran up over £11 of charges on my mobile. They then sorted out the problem, then I had to send my pc away to be fixed (power problem) and since it came back I keep losing connection all the time
It's a great service........WHEN IT WORKS :rotfl:0 -
phoned sky today and was told that free broadband had just come into my area but i would have to wait a fortnight to be connected to base. she seemed a bit unsure of what to say to me after she kept me on hold for ages and said that she had been passed from pillar to post. do you think they want to keep us in the dark about the services we are been offered, especially when theyre free.0
