    Well done Mavvy

I think I could get off the naughty step if I find time to sell some more stuff on Fleabay :)

In hindsight, I think £150 for the year was a bit too stingy, especially when I had got rid of loads of unwanted stuff too.

I might have blown the budget but I have bought good quality things I love (Hobbs, white stuff, karen Millen, phase eight etc). I am going to revise my budget to add another £100 for the rest of the year. so that I can get a few winter woolies and some new yoga clothes.

I think thats very fair Rowan Moon £150 is nothing not when you have sold so much. Get off the naughty step and add the £100 you know it makes sense ;)
I did think when I sent that lot of clothes back.I could buy better quality at a fraction of the price at Chazzers and love it more :D

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Hi All

I've bought a few items from the pound rail in the CS. Pink monsoon top, cute cotton slip on dress & some new footless leggings/tights which I've decided to carry with me at all times after I've been caught out by weather changing a few times lately (I've tried very hard to continue dressing for summer in spite of the weather). So £3.00 to add. I'm still on the naughty step but quite happy there. My annual budget was a complete guess and even though I've gone over it I know that setting it has meant that I am spending a lot less than I would have. Plus all the support on this thread of course. :)
Shifting my energy for 2020 :heart::heart:

    Well done mav

Err, did I confess to buying three bikinis last week? They were in the sale and one or more might go back....but we're not even going on holiday this year  (well a few days in the inner Hebrides ....pretty unlikely to need a bikini there :rotfl:)

I made this a New Years resolution in January, but didn't realise it was a thread here. I've cut down a lot as a result, but was naughty in the Sales on holidays, (Spain). The euro rate justified it though! Anyway, after a review I've decided I can get back on the bandwagon, so may I take up this challenge for the rest of the year? I'm not including family as they buy so little anyway....
2p or not 2p? That is the question!

  • Hi I think I will join if I can please? :j

..can I say £480 a year !!! As I need to look very smart for work and can run down a pair of heels just by looking at them ..I hope that isn't an OTT budget??
£40 a month would be good for me to be honest and I have a weakness for good quality handbags.:o

I am switching to primarni and CS shopping for clothes ..:TLuckily I'm currently a skinny minnie so should be alright in CS shops ...there are zillions round here and some even have a 99p rail.

I may even attempt the 33 item capsule wardrobe ..however with my vintagesque look not sure how realistic that is...:(

Here's to Slippers and Fluffy PJS Two of my most favourite things ..;)

Maybe I will post some of my CS finds on here if appropriate?

I always have loads of idea's for clothes, styling looks and putting stuff together well so this should to help minimise spending :D

Found Myself and my Budget .... Gave myself £40 a month ...lol

Will reset the clock and say £200 from now until xmas ...

There's no way I've spent £280 this year so far ...I have also sold so much I only have maximum 40 item wardrobe :T

Still working on the capsule trying to get it down to 33 :rotfl:

Can do it if you don't include undies , pj's, slippers, shoes or bags ..xxxxxx

Mav - I have a feather and down jacket I got a few years back in the FF sale. Best investment ever - like a snuggly warm duvet (yes, I have been known to feel a teeny bit smug wearing that and my $25 fully lined / waterproof snow boots reduced from $100 which I got in NY) :o No frostbite for me  (unless I wear one of those bikinis in the Hebrides :rotfl:

I've had a bit of a spend today on things not on my permitted list, but they are unscheduled essentials.

I've been job hunting, and am just about to start a 2 week trial for a job which requires a uniform - of which I have to provide 'black tailored trousers' and be in a clean pair daily (the nature of the job means I can't guarantee they'll look clean at the end of a shift). The only black 'trousers' I own are my running leggings (clearly not suitable) and one pair of black cord leggings (which I got away with for an initial 2 hour introductory session). So I've been to Mr T and picked up 2 pairs of £6 trousers, but I then boosted a £5 clubcard voucher to £10 so only had to find £2 cash. (Still counting the full £12 in my spends though, as I'd have had to find it all had I not had a spare voucher knocking around.)

I had planned to try and find a day to do the rounds of charity shops, but I figured I probably wouldn't get any for less than that around here (even if I found anything suitable that fitted) and I know this design washes and wears well and dries quickly as I had them in smaller sizes for the job I was in 5 years ago (still have the smaller sizes, but need to lose a couple of stone before I can get back into them  )
